I feel like they designed a Prius that makes prefect sense in 2023. Unless something crazy happens, I’m buying this one.
Lexus should make the luxury version of the Prius.

interior is really disappointing.
In less than 24 hours, this short introduction video to the new 23' Prius has already more views than some released months ago, you can tell it is going to be a hit, well done for your coverage, and well done Toyota. Not every countries have the infrastructure to power full EV, only a few in fact.

Norway and the Netherlands are the best countries for an ev i think
i struggle to recall any other car improve so much in one generation. of course Toyota had no choice - anything less than what they have done here would not have been enough in a landscape in which green options have exploded since the last Prius was released. still it's good to see Toyota is being realistic about what they need to do to stay competitive and then actually doing it.
Upvote if you want Toyota to bring it to EU! We need to show Toyota there is demand or we won't get it!

@@Mgoblagulkablong you can understand why, if the new Prius was full EV no one would buy the expensive BZ4X, I think after a few years there will be a full EV version released in Europe hopefully 🤞🏻.

I think there's going to be a huge market for this car. Not everyone can have a plug-in or a pure electric in today's world. I would love to have either one but it's just not practical, this is a practical daily driver.

New Prius is the most attractive, inviting, and sexiest design vehicle ever. It is stunningly sleekest gorgeous in and out. I would never imagine Toyota designed such a beautiful vehicle, PRIUS. This new Prius would sell very well, especially Prius Prime, which has been very popular in S. California. Lovely Prius; very well done, Toyota. I would love to own one.
Incredible how a once not-so-attractive car can propel itself into something this appealing. Truly an ugly duckling story I'd say. Great job Toyota!

The exterior design is, let's say, so-so, the interior is far below competing models from the same period, hard, unfriendly materials, relative comfort and extremely noisy. Yes, it is frugal and easy to drive, but ... that's it. This Prius, on the other hand, exceeds expectations. At least visually.

This is the first Prius that has the speedometer and other displays directly in front of the driver instead of being in the center of the dashboard- which is a good thing.

Finally a Toyota Prius I wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen driving and what does Toyota Australia do? They decide not to bring it here. Toyota Australia is nuts. This thing will sell like no other Prius before it. I’d buy one.

I definitely like more the new exterior, I'm not so sure about the internal electronic screens though. And I really like they now have a 4x4 hybrid.

Really great looking. Thomas, when you do the driving review, will they let you keep the car for a week or more before you give your verdict? It would be nice to know what you notice over a long period with it.

TOYOTA IS KILLING IT
Great video and review thank you. I prefer the regular hybrid over the prime. I have concerns about the battery safety with the lower profile and no eAWD option. Plus 220 hp is not something I need, 196 HP is plenty and though eAWD will reduce mileage by 3-4 mpg it's ok since the tire width is 195 so somewhat narrow.
I'm with you, 196hp, eAwd with mid 50s combined is amazing. Still likely close to 60mpg highway.👌🏻
@@jasongillis1336 thanks. Yeah, I see no reason why not especially if one drives on cruise control, I believe the sweet spot is 60 mph correct? The eAWD is on demand so it won't be engaged all the time
It seems as if the middle armrest does not extend very far forwards. Especially if the seats are nopositioned forwards.

There is a huge possibility of this Prius to have an EV model soon in future from Toyota!
Does the prime prius have the self charging system or is it a must to plug it in? I know the camry engine can charge the batteries as you drive like a F1 car.
Oh it will self charge if you want it to or you can set it to hybrid and it'll maintain charge and not waste fuel trying to charge itself.
@@vitreoushumor I know the hybrid version does self charge but I have doubt about the PRIME because some cars like the Honda civic Hybrid uses its engine to charge the battery and not just the regenerative braking system. I wanna know if the PRIME does change via the engine as well or just through braking.
@@fahedsayed2201 as far as I know, all Prius engines charge the traction battery. We own two of them. There isn’t enough braking during driving to do all the charging.
That can't be Prius, it's a "Lexus Px150" ( following lexus naming system ), great design for 2020 and beyond . Always top video and review Thomas and team, loving it !!

What acceleration do they give for the PHEV?
From Toyota”s presentation, the PHEV (Prius Prime) makes 220 hp with a 0 - 60 of around 6.7 seconds.

I always think that if you design a car, you kind of start with the passengers. If the passengers don't fit inside properly, your design is wrong and the styling, however nice, is irrelevant.
Can the rear seats go down? Can you store your cross country skiis and bicycle inside the trunk?

@@autogefuehl No. You showed the trunk from 8 minute to 9 minute. You did not put down the rear seats. You mentioned that the batteries where stored near the rear seats, mentioned removing the privacy cover, and displayed the lower trunk space. I recall back in 2006 that Honda Civic EV could not put down the rear seats. Would be helpful if you displayed that rear seats can go down for carrying bicycles and other items instead of using external mounts.

Interesting that Toyota didn’t go the taller cross-over route, instead choosing a low slung car design. I’m not a truck person, so I appreciate their choice.
