- In this video, I share my 10 tips that will help you find your dissertation or thesis topic. Having written both a dissertation and a thesis, I know exactly how it feels to struggle with finding a research topic. What should you write about? How do you know your topic is right?
These tips are super easy to follow and will definitely help you arrive at a topic that you will love writing on!
If you’re wondering - I hold a degree in English Language and Linguistics, and my BA dissertation was on the subjunctive in French and in English, and my MA thesis explored the intricacies of subject-verb agreement with coordinated subjects in Slavic languages (that’s a mouthful).

Thank you for this great video! I've been pressured to pick a thesis topic before the end of June and these tips are really helpful! I am majoring in World Literature and there is just so much I'd love to research and write about but narrowing it all down must be the way to go!

I am starting my MSc Dissertation now and had previously done a dissertation proposal a few months ago but these past couple of weeks has made me realise that I do not like my topic and wish to change it. the main issue was not knowing what to change to or even where to start but after looking at a bunch of websites which weren't helpful, I then came across your channel and your tips have helped me out so much, knowing that I have a few ideas now, I can rest a bit easier. Honestly I am now in the process of writing my MSc dissertation in 🇹🇹 at UWI, and I was getting frustrated not being able to become inspired and come up with a topic. I spoke with my coordinator about it and she put me on to this video. I feel as though this video is helping get through that rut.

I graduated in Applied Linguistics and I wrote about translation techniques of prison slang from English to Polish in TV series 'Prison Break' because I love this show. It's really important to write about something you're interested in because then it will go so much easier! 😁

Sadly, my university delays graduation by 6 months if someone changed their topic.
