Im married to my counterfeit and ready to run out of my skin. He claimed to be a pastor and no sooner we got married he claimed he needs to go back to his own country. I have 3 beautiful young children who has grown accustomed to him and I feel so angry and betrayed but I am trying to maintain my composure and be cordial. I dont even care to speak to him anymore. I feel used and am over it. Im grateful the Holy Spirit spoke to me to let this go less than 3 months into the marriage. I feel so silly

I just left a counterfeit who gave an illusion to be someone he is not. I have since been thinking of ways to discern earlier and faster and I prayed about it. I'm glad to recieve this beautiful summary of things to consider to help me discern! I just want to add that in my previous experience what helped me with the discernment is that while I prayed about him, my spirit became very uneasy about being with him and I even starting having a feeling of depression. That was my cue and I pressed on in prayer asking the Lord to help me discern and take him away from me if he is a counterfeit and the Lord did. I had some confusing signs that led me to date him cos I met him church and thought he was from God but I was so wrong! The enemy can trick us like that with signs. The Word of God is a great tool in discerning! And the other points you mentioned are also a great addition to our discernment kit.

This video is very true. On number 1, he even ended up saying he was just acting like a good boyfriend. My number 2 is someone that doesn't respect your 'no' or your boundaries. Always trying to talk you out of when you said no or doesn't respect your perspective

Some people have such a distorted version of Christianity that when a guy tells me he loves Jesus I feel inclined to ask which one, the biblical one who calls you to repent or the new age hippie who thinks it's all good, I met a guy who was born and raised in church but still very worldly and emotionally unavailable, I've been praying for him but I don't think he's the one for me.

I went through soo much past relationships trauma that has affected me with this one.. he tried to draw me closer to God and do everything.. but I was lost, in the darkness and I drag him into that.. but deep inside I love him.. we broke up about 2 months ago and I don’t understand whether this breakup is temporary for us to rebrand ourselves and walk with Christ or is a permanent breakup..
I'm sorry about your breakup. Your feelings are pretty common and normal. I'd recommend using this time to pursue Christ. Allow God to mold you into who He wants you to be and surrender to Him and His will. With that, consider the breakup permanent. If you continue to hold on, it will be more difficult to heal and grow. IF God does happen to bring you two back together, it'd be a pleasant surprise for you, and you'd know it was God ordained. However, I'd recommend moving forward and prioritizing Christ in this season. Praying for you!

You've got to be careful because it could be God-maybe BUT it could very well be a counterfeit. Remember, a counterfeit looks just like the real thing. In this case, give it time and watch the fruit/actions to determine if it's the real thing.

The wife must then live a godly life in obedience to God's word, and her Christ like lifestyle will serve as a light to her husband, and she will eventually see him change for the better. Nothing is top hard for God, Sis! But we as wives must keep a good heart even in situations that aren't ideal. Now, situations of infidelity or abuse can be handled differently. Not sure of your story but praying that God helps you and shows you His ways. 💛
