Good to see OpenTTD is back on the channel! Here's a tip: maintaining trains in depots right at the station creates a lot of extra delay that you will soon notice if traffic picks even slightly up. If it's your first lines, you might as well just place depots at the end of the terminal if you're using terminal stations. If you have a larger network later, it's a better idea to have dedicated depot sections where trains can get properly cycled in and out of line traffic without causing too much delay.
And to add make the depot sections as long as your longest train is with proper signaling just so that the train slow down wont cause a network slow down.
How to use timetables: 1) You need to wait for one to do a full route with autofill turned on. 2) Then clone it a bunch. 3) Pause the game, find the bus closest to the first stop, then hold control and press Start Time. 4) Give it a few days to reach the stop but if it's late it still works. Now, when the bus reaches the first stpp all other shared orders vehicles will space out thier timetables and wait until it's their time to leave the station, hence spacing them out. Make any mistakes and it all goes wrong. Eventually this becomes 80% of what you end up doing but it's the only way to make a route work sometimes and less time consuming than waiting to release them one at a time. PS. You need to add days extra waiting at stations so it doesn't get late and end up skipping every station.
Hey there Strictoaster! Nice video, and nice series! Just a little tip for you, maybe someone already mentioned this but i'll say it anyway: If you hold down CTRL while dragging a vehicle into a group, all the vehicles which share its orders are also placed in that group. Saves you some time!
Fond memories of playing the original TTD back in the day on my old 486DX2 in the mid 90's. PC was starting to get a bit old and slow, I remember 200Mhz Pentiums being available, but of course, Transport Tycoon still ran pretty damn well!
I love this game since 1995. I started on the original TTD, but I am amazed by the OpenTTD. this is actually even better than the original game, and it runs on Linux like a charm. I love it, and it's very addictive. I can't stop playing when I start is. No other tycoon is even close to this.

16:50 OK dude, I think I found a glitch in the Matrix or something, because it's the second time I see Porto Alegre being mentioned on a video within like what, an hour or two? It's my home town, I'm not there anymore. And one of the craziest things about this is that you mention creating a train line connecting a few cities. First of all Porto Alegre is an unique town in the sense that there's a metro service but for the majority of the line it goes above ground, it's a very pleasant ride actually, people call it a train. And another crazy thing is the cities you mention connecting in the game, Porto Alegre is the biggest of them, which is also the case in real life, being that PA is the state capital. And this one is the craziest: up to this point, they're also six cities covered by this line in real life, and Porto Alegre is at one end of the line. Just an incredible series of coincidences, isn't it? xDDDDD How come you also pronounce Porto Alegre the right way? xPPPP
Yeah he's from Argentina (neighbors to aforementioned town) This thing about accents is crazy, when I was younger I could speak english more easily, now that I'm older I feel like I can't shake this heavy accent, it's weird.
That reminds me I played a similar challenge in original game. Maybe even before deluxe. I used a simple trick in absence of timetables to more evenly distribute passangers: you send first bus as is, but for second press "skip station" button so it go to 2nd station right away. Alternatevily schedule buses to go in reverse through stations in reverse order. Also I preferred to go for oil (and coal) carrying trains right in the beginning - income of passengers was too low in the beginning, oil was making a lot of money and its value didn't decay with time too much(which is important when trains are slow) and they provided goods which also made money. Dunno what industry would work in modded world, but there's a graph in game for that. Underground tunnel is an awesome idea is it provides more space for city to grow and more buildings around stations, more passengers it attracts. (I liked building "metro" in my cities by digging 1x1 square down, putting 1x1 station and connecting by tunnel to another such station, then running a locomotive that carries passengers by its own and no extra cars)
Dude, as someone who has wanted to build a metro network in OTTD for years but just never knew how the hell I'd do it this is amazing, thank you so much from the future!

The greatest way to grow a city is to find a city on a strategic place.Example you have this city sitting in the middle of nowhere where everything is so far.You don't wanna spend money in making long tracks. So, find a city where every industry is quite near you to start a buisness empire, that will be easy for you rather then spending hundreds of thousands money wasting on your infrastucture.
