Job well done! I hope more of these rare sirens are discovered in future! & wow this has to be the clearest audio I have heard of a 8/12 Allertor! The windown sounds of mystery & wonder.
Ah Cresco, I visited this place after the Minnesota drill and was extremely surprised that this was an early one! My guess was that this was an 8/12 port. I would've made a tour video but didn't have time. Thank you for recording this beast!
For some reason every time I hear the sound like this it reminds me of the sound from shark scene off weekend Bernie's 2 movie when Bernie is parasailing don't know why
i might try to record this next year when im finished with my freshman year. i wouldn't suppose its possible to request a 1 minute alert instead of a short noon blast or anything like that from the city hall, is it?
It was still loud as hell, despite being reverse wired. I don’t know if the directional choppers in these were very efficient, because newer Allertors are significantly impacted when reversed while these don’t seem to be.
Another enthusiast that came here after me learned that the regular test is actually much shorter than this, they don’t even reach full pitch most weeks. Supposedly the reason this went for around a minute the week I went there is because a timer got stuck on.
@@mnsirens when i was employed, i was sent to a large training facility in Norman, Oklahoma, several times a year. They did their siren test every friday at 12 noon sharp, being smack-dab in the middle of tornado alley.
Norman still tests their sirens every week, although it is on Saturdays at noon now. A large portion of Oklahoma City’s metro area does their siren test every Saturday.
When mikey discovers yet another rare allertor
Time to make yet another impulse trip to see a siren

Where did you go for the tornado drill?
@@mnsirens I made a last-second decision to attend the Minnesota drill and head to Le Roy, MN to film both of their bolts.

@@xXSo1arGamingXx Well, now you got a growl from this siren: th-cam.com/video/JL9TJQ1N8_Q/w-d-xo.html. Cool, right?
This siren uses the same amount of ports in the chopper as an ACA P-50. That's why it sounds like a P-50!
same chopper ratio, 8/12 allertor choppers are completely different in design, if it was a p50 chopper the chopper would simply
not fit in the housing
@@Nirvoxide Yeah, I know.
I can hear another dual-toned siren around 0:25. Maybe a Thunderbolt?
Edit 10-2023: The attack timer seems very long. Even longer than a Sentry siren.
So awesome! And bonus points for attack too!
It has a really heavy 4-port undertone.
Neato! An 8/12 port allertor in attack! Sweet catch. Even when an allertor is reverse wired its still epic!! 😁🤩😎
It is not
It sounds cooler Reversed Wired TBH.
That's a pretty fast rotator. Very punch nice catch
faded yellow reverse wired cresco iowa outdoor warning aca allertor 125 decibel siren
I love the low pitch in that allertor... My fav.
Sweet find, dude! Well done to you!
Wow beautiful the sound it's like chopper ACA P-50!
Awesome video! Shame this siren is wired backwards, but congrats on being the first to discover another 8/12 Allertor!
Great video!! That is so epic!!!
WE MAKIN IT OUT OF CYCLONE STATOR WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🗣️🗣️💯💯
allertor doesn't have a cyclone stator
@@vantaaax i am aware
Kicka**!!!!!!!
This has gotta be a custom attack signal.
Pretty sure this is OG ACA attack timing, doesn’t sound like it but it’s just 8 up 4 down
@@TheSirenSeeker i could've sworn aca attack timing was 6 on 6 off. 8 on 4 off is federal signal timing isnt it?
Why are all the rare allertors white and yellow lol
Jim Biersach rare tornado siren test
Why does it sound like a P50.
Because it has the same port ratios of a P-50
Judging by the fast wind-up, I’d say that thing may or may not be running off of 480V!
Dangit I really wanted to be the first to record this, I have family in Cresco.
I feel your pain. At least there's a video of it now!

Cool ass air raid horn. Reminds me of the old days. Good noise for wrestling entrance music.👍😁👋.
It sounds like a P-50 with a fast windup.

I thought there were no more 8/12 models. How?

Yep, it's easy for me to tell just by listening whether one is wired backwards or not.
