Epic stuff man. I've always played this way from day one in this game and I feel the struggle, it's real, but it's worth it! The fights are way more fulfilling to win when you don't shoot first, and the people you meet can be awesome

When I first started playing I was extremely friendly with everyone.. Now I ebb & flow depending on the group / situation. I can go from friendly to enemy in a heart beat if I sense I am being led inevitably to my death, where as before I would just walk right into the trap... One of the most enjoyable things I've come to learn about DayZ is just how unpredictable both the game (flying cars anyone?) and the survivors inhabiting the world can be.
Making friends is for the coast. Once you leave you are fair game and you cant get mad at people for it.

I actuallu met one of my best and longest game buddies because he spared my life at a field , while he was having shotgun on my back. 8 years of gaming so far together, i think thats epicly better outcome than him popping me and looting my 2 cans of tuna and sporter :)
That was hot. As someone that plays PlayStation on official servers, I'm always trying to make friends in servers, in the year and a half ive been playing, ive had 6 friendly encounters!

I play as a friendly player on Xbox official. I feel your pain, and I raise you a higher level of toxicity. Console official never talk and always kos. I've met only 6 or 7 friendly players in 2000 hours on Xbox. Also, I had to get the jump on them first and basically scare them into being chill.
I've only met one friendly guy on xbox in game through voip everyone else is silent and in a party and never talk

I am always a friendly person and the most times when I tried to be nice in DayZ too I got a headshot or got stabbed to death.
Its so sad that there are so many people just killing without even thinking of all the possibilities you could have if you would team up with guys!
I just met 2 guys speaking the same language as me and its so much more fun than playing alone and killing people...

Im scared of people with guns so i shoot those people especialy if they have it in their hand but but people with no guns i dont but then i give them a weapon and then they shoot me but i still give them a weapon because if they dont shoot then we are friends forever but for betraying someone after saying your friendly has no excuse (sorry for bad english)
Nah two guys went as far as to add me on discord then faked a server invite then killed me with the gun I gave him and his friend. I'll keep being an ass and hopefully breaking up groups of 2/3/etc
That's probably the most challenging thing in DayZ meeting random people and becoming true friends.

I was fully geared north of Dubovo with my ass up drinking water. Two guys came up outta no where and we all instantly went to comms. They could’ve capped me and taken all my loot but they turned out to be the best buddies I’ve met on official and after building a base together and getting to know one another personally I finally proved my reason to go to comms. It took a few more holes in my plate carrier and unfair challenging gunfights to figure it out but it was worth it 😆
Every time I hear dubovo it reminds me of the time I had to haul ass from dubovo to the airfield my first time playing the game just to meet a guy for him to fucking kill me 😂😂
@@jujihollow9746 i made my way for the first time to the airfield, had meds, guns, silencers, scopes but no armour whatsoever, only a stab vest and hockey helm.. i logged out for a day and when i started playing again i afk for a phone call and a zombie made me bleed out to zero, so i sat in a container waiting out the rain and passing out for 10 mins, woke up and wanted to see what difference a 9v makes to my red dot i aimed at the wall and got shot 4 times, no idea how long the guy was watching me for.. its just sad that theres no way he coulve taken all my loot, and if he robbed me i wouldnt have gave a damn about it... KoS is rubbish

I still fondly remembered the Arma II mod days when DayZ was new and nobody had any experiences with this type of game. There still was KOS but not too much so you never knew what to expect from the other player.

I just want everyone to keep in mind that all play styles are valid.

I do wish people would play more in the spirit of the game - which at its core is a survival game, not a killing game, but even in the world we live in IRL, there is no shortage of c*nts. The uncertainty of what a stranger might do adds to the tension.
I think a lot of people misunderstand what DayZ is, and just think of it as COD but you have to find your own gear.
The PvE and No KOS and other sanitized modded servers are where a lot of people end up because they don't want a FPS, but that too detracts from what vanilla offers.
There has to be that danger, that uncertainty. Otherwise the stakes are incredibly low.
Ultimately, DayZ is an RPG, even if you're just RP'ing yourself.

If you play DayZ as a survival game then it's just too easy. Once you kill an animal, it's just simple after that. Fighting other players and teams is basically the only unpredictable part of DayZ. There has to be evil for the good to push back.
8:20 that was a fair comment from the other bloke. One of the two put his weapon away, "how about you put yours away?" and you and your mate didn't respond - though you were now two guys with weapons out vs one - so his mate opened up.
You run around pointing your weapons at people and then wondering why they shoot at you. Not only that, but when your mate came to help you in the police station, you stood at the top and closed the door to protect yourself, leaving your mate to do it all by himself.

Ha knew I recognised the voice at 8:17. I like to talk personally but without bandits there would be no risk. Really enjoyed the video as always M1ndr. Two of my best adventures was on KK and both were when I took a chance talking first, one of which was one guys second day on DayZ and his friends had all told him never to trust anyone; we had each others backs until the bloody end.
Running around as a Friendly in Dayz is challenging & difficult. I’m a friendly individual normally or im a Ghost who avoids people an survives alone in the woods.
Same. I try really hard to be cool. You meet some neat people. But on console its kos 90% of the time.
Like one time I was herding zombies on purpose to see how many I could get to chase me. I got to about 15 and decided to run into police. There was a gate right there. But I had enough room to shut the front door lol. I heard the dude in his base and was like
"Look man. No troubles. I don't want anything. I'm just waiting for these z's to deagro and I'm out. He stayed silent for like 15 seconds but then we started talking. Now him and his boy and my and my friend are talking about starting a little clan. Both duos have their own base so no worries of betrayal, and we meet in a mutual town and run it.
Then the other 90% is i would have run out of police and been shot in the back lol
I always make my bases in forests and caves
They are so cozy and i like not being bothered by anyone
Just know your really never alone out there in the woods
One of the things I've been doing is running without a firearm. It's been interesting to say the least , sometimes interesting sometimes frustrating .
I thought about doing this but it's just a waste of time
Try running with a sawn-off shotgun and a longhorn in your bag. I used to purposefully make my character look undergeared and unarmed, then have adventures with people I met on the coast. Very fun.

It's not the fact of a friendly approach/friendly player, it's the fact dayz is originally a community survival game not a loot up and kill everything like warzone, 🙄 I remember when dayz was literally community's everyone was just out to survive and you came across really cool people, like I remember when you go to cherno and there is a community of people it was amazing some traders some farmers some guards, police your whole 9yards or the airfield at the top north of the map that always had a community just outside of it but thst was years ago😒, nowadays you have nothing but death and betrayal like it's what happens when warzone players get hint of games like this they come over and treat it like warzone,cod,battlefield all thos games like insteadof ruining our games stay with yours thst you have already ruined like make the mess don't want to clean it well sit in it ya knkw don't ruin everything else/all other games that involve looting gear, like it's a COMMUNITY SURVIVAL GAME COMMUNITY!!!(said in sad crying voice)

It has its positive and negative impacts. Certainly a community approach to survival would have great potential for interactions with other players and role play.
On the flip side the “shoot on sight” mentality does add adrenaline and excitement to certain situations

I try to be nice to everybody that I meet but I’m not stupid about it I always have my gun drawn until I trust the person and I never walk in front of them

KOS guys are pricks. Happened to me again the other day at a well. That's always risky but I was fresher than fresh and just got shot in the face for a few rags and a plum. Although I did meet a really nice guy later who saved my dehydrated arse so not all players suck I guess. Keep up the good videos. Learning lots from players like you and appreciate the time you put into creating these videos.

There'd be no point. DayZ has no story, nothing to build on. Why make a second game?
@@fatboyinasandpit3434 Why? Better engine would allow for so much more! Helicopters, planes, fully working cars, better graphics, more optimisation. It's so obvious what would be the benefits....even those damned shadows and light sources being rendered much further away improve gameplay noticeably.
@@Hombremaniac BI have barely added anything from the old engine when they updated to Enfusion. The current engine is terrible anyway imo. Animations need a major rework.

Dude got so pissed he hunted me down from across the city and tried to fist fight me. I shot him enough to knock out but not kill him and left. He got pissed again and hunted me down with a hatchet, ending the best life I had in my time playing this game
I pretty much always try to be friendly. A 1 hour plus adventure with a random is always more fun than simply shooting them.
This has been my experience. I'm committed to not killing another player until I find a player who will respond my call out of "friendly" with something other than a bullet to my head........so far It hasn't happened but I hope that one day.....one day I'll stumble across that rare friendly player who has a microphone who's also not already in a party chat and therefore has all other players muted anyway.
I wish that I could log into the game, just once, when it wasn't night time and I could actually explore a little without stumbling into 40 zombies while I'm blind af.
I just keep my distance from everyone and treat everyone equally, and that is trust everyone with a grain of salt or only trust them as far as you can throw them which isn't far at all

Geared up for many hours on DayZ today & headed back to where fresh spawns roam around, in hopes to find a new friend for an adventure. First encounter I asked this guy if he needed anything, I had a lot of canned food. He called me a pedophile & I found a house to log off & went to work early. A year of playing & I've met a couple nice fresh spawns but anyone geared is a immediate pos.

Most players aren't really evil it's more due to the fear of the Unknown and trust, when two survivors meet there is a dilemma that they both face where neither person knows the other's intentions and normally leads to the conclusion that they must kill the other person before they have a chance to kill them, trust issues can cause the same outcome even when one person is genuinely trying to be friendly but the other doesn't trust that they are actually friendly and kills them out of fear which is amplified by past experiences of being deceived and someone lying that they are friendly only to kill them when given the chance. Trying to be friendly is always a gamble and you never know if the other person will trust you to begin with or will see your friendly nature as a weakness and jump you when the chance arises
I have trust issues anyway so the first 100 hours in this game years ago I lost trust in nearly everyone I came into contact with. I tend to kill people if they're heavily looted if I see more fresh and lightly looted people I just tend to avoid them anymore.

Love the videos and DayZ but as a console player I have had enough of the dupping on official and admin abuse in community lobbies. Sadly countless admin abuse had made me lose my shit and I'm giving up the game.

Basically what I've noticed on community servers and all their discords, is most of the admins are hardcore LGBTQ and rule with a hardcore liberal thumb ruining the server with politics. Puke
duping isnt really the problem people make it out to be on official, they still suck at shooting and have gear fear - ive been running on official for a couple weeks very hard and have yet to run into anyone with duped gear. super geared players, yes. but duped geared players, hell no

I just started playing 2 weeks ago. I intended to be friendly. I have only had two encounters yet. One where I heard someone, freaked out and bailed, survived but later on felt bad that I missed a possible friend. And the other.... I was in a house about to leave, when someone ran inside, he scared the shit out of me and I shot him. I felt super bad....
