Classic AC combat is all about timing and flow. The animations are very well done in that regard, with weight behind each move but not overdone. So many iconic kill moves that just feel good to execute. Ezio doesn't just mindlessly stab an enemy with no consequences *coughsyndicate* but just efficiently desposes of an opponent once they are weakend or through a quick counter. Sound design also plays a big part. That sound of the "death of a thousand cuts" -move with the hidden blade is just perfect. Overall, i love classic AC combat because it feels good. Not because it's difficult, not because i can maximize damage numbers and certainly not to expericene how it feels to kill someone by stabbing him with an earthworm over and over. That one move that was featured from AC 1 up to Revelations on it's own has better flow than any animation from the recent Trilogie. Its the one with the dagger where Altair just does a little sidestep, uses the energy of the attacker to his advantage and stabs him from behind into his back. Quick, stylish, cool, efficient, death in the blink of an eye. That's what the Essene of an Assassin is.

I have NOT been getting all there is to get from AC2 combat.
I wasn’t for my first few playthroughs, either. AC2 combat goes hard
@@jcers It's an excuse for me to get back to AC2 at some point :) Thank you for giving these games their due!
How does that gun counter work? Deflect and then quickshot?
yes
Yeah, just parry an attack and then button mash an attack out
Bloody legend
No seriously
Now go clean your stained robes Assassin
Legendary game😢
Which keys do you kill directly?
How do you break the spear?
You dodge the seeker's sweep attack. Notice how he winds up for the attack in the clip. That's what you need to look for.
@@jcers High profile legs? Ahhhh okay thanks man. Wish they had the strafe option in acb/r but they replaced it with kick.
@@dylanway2403 you can strafe in Bh and Rev by double tapping movement to the left or to the right. A bit easier to do on MKB but still doable on controller.
Thank you mentor. Peace be upon you
How do you fight like that? My fights are always tedious - just standing still and waiting for the enemy to make their move...
I’d start with giving this video a watch:

@@jcers I apologize for not replying in time, must be something with notifications. I have watched that video and it helped me greatly. Many thanks!
1:06 bruh😂😂😂😂
That one spike on the end of the hammer doing work
The only bad thing about combat is the music change when you notoriety got up. Apart from that, I much prefer this combat over the chain kills of later series.
I really struggle with the steps. Is there a trick to it?
Check these vids out: th-cam.com/play/PLIv_ynfacjCq-_BvukOubGCkcpR-58G8l.html&feature=shared
I personally don't like the enemies outlined during combat and looks like some cartoon. Is there a way to turn off the outline?
1:06 lol
Ubisoft relying a little too much on that one small spike on the end of the hammer, lol
Its a damn shame that they over simplified ac3 and 4s combat because most players just didnt explore what the combat systems had to offer once they figured out, wait, R2 □/X=win?/fun?...
Hello, what console are you playing on?
Great vid as always :)
(can I also ask how the stealth guide is going?)
Thanks! I’ve been taking a break from working on the AC3 stealth guide because doing nothing but studying AC3’s stealth mechanics was really burning me out, haha. In the meantime, I’ve been playing the Arkham series for the first time, so I’ve got some videos for that coming soon. I’m going to go back to working on the AC3 guide when I’m feeling ready because I know that that’s when I’ll do my best work.
Alright man, just remember that we're here man, you ain't got to rush things if you're tired, cheers
wow you're so good man, btw, about to replay brotherhood. is the combat in terms of the "advanced stuff" like other than counter killing the same? sorry if that made little sense
No chain killing, no kicking only dodging Brotherhoods combat system beats this one by a mile
Kicking would be nice but the lack of chain killing makes this game's combat far superior to Brotherhood's in my estimation
Hey are you running this game on PC? If so how do you make it look and run so well. I play at 1440p and the texture pop in , stutters, fps drops, and lack of clarity kills me.
Yea, this is on PC. I’ve just been running it at 1080p. The texture pop-ins are a known problem in AC2 on PC, that’s just a thing for everybody. I also occasionally get the other things, but it’s rare. Not sure what would cause those other things. Sorry :/
Do one for AC1 too
I probably will, eventually!
@@jcers cool, also how do you do that punch hidden blade combo? Every time i try it, it just does the standard hidden blade attack animation
@@Jmf-jh8kj It only works like that after you stagger an enemy with a punch, most commonly useful after a dodge. It also requires specific timing on when to attack with the Hidden Blade. Execution Producer goes over how to perform this action (and many others that involve the Hidden Blade) in this video: th-cam.com/video/YsU6MfB6Rug/w-d-xo.html
브라더후드 전투만 좋아했는데 어크2 전투도 괜찮네요
Impressive performance. I want to say that Assassin's Creed 2 is my favorite AC game because of best story, gameplay and combat mechanics, its setting and location. I wish AC 2 should make few more locations like Milan and Naples. My favorite location is Venice, it's big, nice music, the environment, carnevale and San Marco where there are a lot of guards. Because of Ezio fighting mostly Venetian guards, is Venice your favorite map too? By the way, I've been there, where I got AC2 vibes and thoughts, and pointed to my brother where Ezio climbed.
The combat mechanics were average at best. Better than the combat in the newer AC games but that’s not saying much lol
why dont you make a lp in depth Story cool gameplay. could be one of kind lp visted again and again.
What is “Ip”?
@@jcers lets play series
Wow... I learned so much now... Im upset that people like you don't get enough attention...
Glad I was able to give you some ideas for new things to try!
