Interesting how Alan was one of the main characters in the pilot but then he's barely in the rest of The season. Hopefully he gets more to do in season 2.
I hope we see them more too. It’d be funny if in the first episode of season 2 they did a fake-out like they were going to have Pim and Charlie switch roles with Alan and Glep as the main characters. Just in general, more episodes with them involved would be tight though. I also understand why they didn’t have as much screen time over 8 episodes. One of the reasons I love this show is because the friend dynamics remind me of my circle in high school. I'm Charlie, my closest friend is basically Pim, another friend is very much like Alan. Not sure about Glep though
Alan might be my favorite Smiling Friends character. I really like Charlie and Pim as well, and it's kind of hard to genuinely hold Alan over them when they've hogged 90% of the show's screen time, but but there's something about an OCD character being portrayed as casually calm and collected that comes off as particularly endearing. I can't recall any anal-retentive characters within a sitcom or cartoon that aren't either apologetic, stuffy, passive aggressive, or control freaks, but Alan doesn't seem to follow these archetypes.
