Suing the bank wouldn't do any good. Even if he did so he'd need a really good lawyer and that would cost him everything. Even if he won the bank would just delay paying him.
yea.. you should do that. And definitly the bank too. Because in my country their is no bank which would let you have 2,5M and cancel an investment without legitimation. And this means in personal and with identity card. And not only a signature given from a foreign person or a telefon call. This is maybe ok with smaller sums, but if a bank in my country would so such a thing with such an amount of money the employee and bank would get in huge trouble. Especially if the bank says the sign was fake.. that it was easy to see (we have to give the bank a test sign for this reasons) and so the employee made real built a lot of shit.
yeah, sue the parents for forgery because they did. Sue Rachel for Fraud and then sue the Bank for allowing the transfer without your present. You'll make way more than 2.5 million just from the bank. Doubt you'd get any money from your parents or rachel but they'd get what they deserved, prison time.
I have a hard time believing that more couldn't have been done. Given that a bank employee (I assume that is what Marcus was) let this slip past under threats (although how OP's parents could ruin his career is never made clear) and the parents confessing in front of a lawyer, it should have been easy to immediately freeze Rachel and Jake's accounts/investments while an investigation was underway. It sounds easy to compare OP's previous signatures to the forged one to have suspicion, especially since he is saying a mere week after the transfer that "I didn't do this." Oh well, still a fun little story.
Have your parents prosecuted for theft, and forgery along with suing them for the funds. Sue sister to return the money, and prosecute her as a party to the theft.
Go straight to the police and file theft against your parents and your sister for receiving stolen goods. Your sister will trade her designer clothes for a prison jumpsuit. However, Rachel as a fashionista who is well aware that orange is the new black
At the first sight of an empty Trust Fund, your first stop is to the bank to initiate a criminal investigation. Get proof that your signature was forged and have the bank help determine who forged it. Then press criminal charges. Of course, if everyone did simple things that that it wouldn't be much of a story.
In modern world there’s a couple of things would happen. The minute transaction happens bank sends notifications to your phone, you can reverse the transaction immediately.. And you can set up daily limit to all transactions to nominated amount so nobody can transfer the lot. And if you have contact the bank that transactions are fraudulent, they will be reversed. Then bank presses charges against the fraudster.
$2.5 million is not a joke! They deserve to lose their son and brother! Ouch to lose that much they should have at least left him $1 million instead they got greedy and took it all. For shame
His parents should've been arrested Jake and Rachel, and Jake shouldn't've gotten a plea deal. Sarah proposed to him, when usually, the man does the proposing.
OP this will be a law made that if someone steals inherited that is it there and the parents are involved with anything that if they die and the money goes to somebody else they legal we should have access to that money no matter what
The Bible says you have to forgive. The Bible (the Word of God) tells you what you have to do - forgive Matthew 6:14 & 15. In order for you to be forgiven, you have to forgive. Ask God to show you, you. I am not saying it will be easy or happen quickly. But take it from me, it will happen eventually. It might take decades. Then you cut ties.
You did the right thing.
Sue your parents, sister, Rachel, and the bank for letting the transfers go through even known forgery.

Mom and dad would be in jail no question ask.

I hope OP sues his parents AND RACHEL.
I like these stories but why do none of these stories have the heroes demand a return of money within 48 hrs or face charges.
What makes this story unbelievable is OP was not left with a huge amount of debt.
Thomas is a twunt waffle. Jake is obviously cleaning out Rachael!
How is Mumsy muyht gonna explain anything when her mouth is full of Richards!
Op, you’re not terribly bright!
