- Ai "art" bros are now trying to make movies, and it's BAD. As someone who wants to have art/animation/writing be a career, it is soul crushing to watch ai replace us and our jobs as we speak. It maybe bad, but it will never has a heart and soul like the people who actually make their work with their own hands, instead of typing it out and calling it a day. I will never support these kinds of works, they are not true art, and never will be.

That was a troubled production, but fortunately AI produced media appears to hold far, far greater promise than "Ratatoing" ever have had. May artificial intelligence, along with the novel apes responsible for its invention, prosper indefinitely.
This feels like when you are trying to remember a weird movie you saw 10 years ago, and the only memories you have of it is short clips of the movie that get distorted as you try harder to remember it

If I'm not paying for an artist's effort and work, I have no reason to give money to things like this.

@@MemeLordCrusader If you want to go "what about the programmer" then you should give money to the programmer, donate to them, buy their program directly from them, etc. Buying these "films" will not give them any money, that money will go straight to the prompt writers, ie the people who didn't put any hard work in

I absolutely love the fact that these “movies” are so soulless and devoid of creative integrity they make mockbuster companies like Video Brinquedo look like heroes.

The problem is Etsy stores like MtInfinityInc, Roborender, Furry Adopt, SparkysPrints, VergilsVisions, PickMeUpAdopts, etc. that sell "adoptable" AI images pretend or hint that there's some sort of human artistry or touching-up involved. Though every piece I've seen makes me think to the contrary. They're probably just thinking "I'm an artist because I had to hit "Generate" 4 times and use my art skills to judge which of these I sent out". I'm amazed how many people fall for it. Some of the AI shops have thousands of sales, selling images anywhere from $20 to $500 a piece and have reviews like "I spent all my money to buy this for my bf but it's worth it because I love the character so much
Even when generative AI gets to the point that the characters are consistent nothing that it can make will be original or have soul.

90% of the first search results are already clogged with ai and it’s only been 2 years since everyone started caring about ai, in the next 5 or so years there’s gonna be so much that it starts using itself
@@MedicinalSquishing In the video there a lot of monster that look like bootleg Monster Inc characters because the AI was most likely trained on Pixar and Disney films(granted you cannot prove that without looking at the training data, but it is safe to assume so). It is using the patterns in that training data to create the images as oppose to creating something original.
Exactly, will always have to steal from some resource. It will never be original, it will never have a soul unlike actual creators with passion.
But people with orginal ideas could use it to create something. Like if someone wants to write a comic book, they could use AI to illustrate it if the AI creates consistent images
Indie is the future, with big corps laying off artists and using AI, I'm slowly turning to indie as that is where most of the passion for entertainment is currently.

AI will only ever be a tool used for idea inspiration, comedic value and research in my eyes. Never some "employee replace-inator". Instances like this assure me that no matter how far it evolves, any frauds passing off prompts as "original" could never replace the raw talent of, you know, ACTUAL artists such as yourself. As an artist who has a hard time visualising things in my head, AI is actually pretty useful. I can type in what I’m thinking of, get a couple concepts of what I want, and then use actual art skills to set the scene and pose characters in a way computers can’t “think” to do.
I should clarify, I’m a 3d artist not an AI image poster.
I'll be honest, I use AI to help me with guiding me with story ideas I come up with. Like to help me revise parts of my stories or to give me tips for story pacing. Never do I have it write the stories for me or come up with the ideas for me.

@@Megolskyno it’s not art, yes it’s stealing from people without any credit or consent or compensation, and that’s literally what art class and art tutorials are for. I developed my own style by experimenting with different brushes and techniques that I learned from playing around with the software but that’s just me personally
As a writer, yeah... this is scary. But I keep reminding myself that I still have things AI doesn't: life experiences, the ability to come up with original ideas and connections, object permanence. We still have the upper hand when it comes to making quality, and soon big companies will learn that art needs that quality in order to succeed.
And when the artists get pushed out by cheaper «AI prompters», these prompters(or the AI company) will start asking the same if not more.
When I wished for there to be technology that let's you turn your dreams into movies, this was _not_ what I had in mind...
But we‘ll get there. Give it time, nature needed millions and billions of years to create a species able to do art after thousands of years of training.
AI won’t take as long, but it will still take some decades until it‘s good.

Yes, agree. It's self-defeating because it's inherently parasitic. It will destroy itself from self-training on AI slop, or Dead Internet Theory eventally becomes more probable, as real artists tune out. In either scenario AI fails because of itself. fun fact: Adobe has been using professional accounts as source font for ai prompts, by selling YOUR art to OpenAI and other prompt to imagery ai companies. I think what makes AI art bad is not that it's something that takes the effort out of art.
Tools that make art easier to create is not a bad thing.
It's just that the AI is making it, not the "artist".
The beauty of human art is not how much effort is put into it, even though that is also something to be applauded.
For me, it's about how every human-made story is written by unique people with unique thoughts and unique life experiences.
And every art design is created specifically by a human, every bit of colour designed by human hand to fit their exact vision.
AI just basically rips the creativity from other people. AI doesn't have its own experiences and thoughts, it doesn't have a vision for how to create things. It just looks at other artworks, made by people from their own visions, and just copies that.
With AI, you cannot even have it create exactly what you want. You can describe your concept in as much detail to it as possible, but what it will create for you can never be as accurate to your vision as if you yourself created it, or if another person who could really understand it created it. Because AI can not create something new, it can only combine everything it has previously seen and learned from.
It is impossible for AI, as it works now, to create something original, even if you described exactly what your vision is, it would only combine parts of already existing artworks into a Frankenstein's monster to replicate what it thinks you want.
I have completely no support for people who use AI to create actual "art".
On the other hand, if there was technology to directly read your mind and draw what you are imagining (not ripping off pre-existing images), then I might be supportive of that being used for art and such. Because even though you do not put in a great effort, it is still something you created in your mind. I think it is still beautiful if people without art skills can create what they imagine. AI is just not that.

The FNF art style just goes off of typical “newgrounds style”, it’s cartoony and exaggerated with thick lines and big emotions and expressions. It’s supposed to look original and comic-y in a way, at least in my opinion. It looks *real.*

The reason why art made by real artists is much better is because actual soul and heart went into it. We work hard on animations, illustrations, ect and take the time to put passion into them. It gives it life and feeling to the art, and it shows how much love was put into it.
"Art" made by ai is artworks stolen from artists mashed together in a blender and is just some prompts stuffed into a machine. It doesn't have effort or emotion, resulting in a dull, lifeless image.
Don't support ai! Support real artists!

the reason why the ai cant get a consistent design for any of the characters in these "trailers" is because an ai cannot have a "memory" of what it has generated. it cant "remember" the designs that it generates, so it just generates something else that fits the same prompt, which usually ends up looking totally different between generations

A big difference between real art and ai """"art"""" is that real human made art actually feels alive and has a soul, ai """art""", no matter how "good" looking it is, will never feel alive and will remain soulless pixels on a screen, no matter how "good" it looks. Ai "art" will never be close to being on the same level that real art is on
