  • Introducing The world's first 4x4 plug-in hybrid SUV, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
This short film looks at the Multi-Media Communication System or MMCS, which is displayed via a high resolution screen on the dashboard. This sytem controls a number of functions in the car, including Bluetooth, phone connections, digital radio, Sat Nav and CD playback. Using the Navigation system is simple - just input your destination into the control panel and you will be directed to the most efficient route possible. The MMCS also shows the Outlander PHEV's energy monitor, to show the vehicle's energy consumption by the Air Conditioning system and drive system. The drive system will change it's energy consumption based on driving condition and terrain, giving you an Eco Score which will be displayed on the system.

Add buttons you can't see at night, seemingly no way to put my map in night mode so it's too bright at night, playing all my iPod tracks in alphabetical order and paired phone voice controls not working despite pairing the. It's an awful piece of kit and enough to make me want to buy a different car.

anyone else have trouble with the usb connection when connecting their iphone? For me the connection keeps cutting out and music stops playing after 10 seconds or so. In addition, if I connect via the bluetooth display it doesn't show the minutes of the song? I have a 2016 4H.

Had reports this PHEV is very low mpg in the hybrid mode, somewhere near 23 mpg. That is very low. Anyone with this vehicle could you please post MPG experience? Thanks

      Hi Ramon Cardona.
I recently traveled with three pasengers a round trip of 300 miles. 75% motorway(60/70miles per hour) 25% urban traffic.(stop/start &10/30mph) I very carefully measured the milage and the exact fuel consumption.
The journey was started with a fully charged drive battery. The battery normally will only do about 20/25 miles in pure electric mode. Therefore the remainder of the journey was run in fully automatic hybrid mode, Though I did use the manual charge button when crusing on the motorway sections .
The average miles per gallon achieved was 43.5 miles per gallon. I thought this was very satisfactory for a vehicle of this size 4 up.
Even when the battery is fully discharged, the system is constantly working to save fuel swiching the engine off and on when appropriate and utilizing the re-generative braking system.
Because most of my trips are short local journeys, I am running 90% electric. A crude estimate of this would be in the order of 250+ miles to the gallon.
I hope you find this help full

I'm so disappointed with this car. More specifically, the Bluetooth. The volume on the phone will only go up to 11...not much good if you're driving and you get a call. I can't hear my caller and they can't hear me. So it's really useless. If I want to make a call or receive a call, my phone has to be plugged in and I have to use Apple Car Play, then I can turn up the volume. Kind of defeats the purpose of their "hands-free Bluetooth". If I could turn this car in tomorrow, I would! Of course, my salesman says he's never heard of this issue before and the Mitsu tech said it was a problem with my phone. Funny how my phone works just fine in our Jeep and truck. What a disappointment!
