Queen of the North passenger rescue by the Gitga’at First Nation community of Hartley Bay

In 2006 passenger ferry #QueenoftheNorth ran aground and sank off the coast of BC. People of the Gitga’at First Nation in Hartley Bay heard the distress call and rushed to the scene to bring survivors to safety. This is their story.
