    Hi mate another great video
Just wondered if all the feeding was done via a hole/shoot during the moult or both seasons
    Cheers

Hi pal. This video is during down season. Hatch feeding works with young birds, older birds work out an understanding and learn, most often without issues Everyone is different.

Cheers. This is Kayla's set up, which is different to the other birds. I think the bars are wooden struts inside heavy rubber tubing. Every body's circumstances are different regarding space and situation :)

The bars are 32mm waste pipe.

Beautiful bird, just found your channel and subbed. I’m up on the west coast of Scotland and have been thinking about getting into falconry for many years. Any advice you would give? Regards Jez

MobileUpload Hey Jez. You're in the right place to start with, stunning part of the world! Best advice is to find someone local to show you how things are done, like a mentor. Hawking/falconry clubs are the best place for advice. Hawking is varied and depends on your circumstances, time, space, environment and what kind of land you have to hunt. How we do things is not typical but suits our circumstances. ATB.

Hi. How do u deal with flies in an aviery. I am in the uk and i have a barn owl. I feed him on mice and chicks, trouble is he doesnt eat all his food at once and flies get in and become a pest. I have tried fine netting on the door and window but this just seemed to keep them in rather than out. The aviery is kept clean, not spotless of course, but relatively clean, any uneaten food is removed but it does not stop them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi pal. We have found Red Top Fly Trap to be the best, you can find them on Ebay, Amazon etc. They are a little pricey and do stink but they certainly catch flies. It's almost impossible to be fly free at this time of year. Our birds reach fat weight by the end of March so by this time of year I try to make sure the birds are not overfed and eat the food without any waste. I'm sure other falconers/hawkers could give some different tips. All the best.

I've had female birds over the last few years and all I can say is males are cooler. Just my opinion.
