Still no XP install. Yet. I got past the boot issue (CSM/Legacy boot), past the 64-bit UEFI ACPI Blue Screen (press F7 when setup says to press F6), and past the missing keyboard issue (press key IMMEDIATELY). Now when setup finishes loading it is telling me it doesn't see any hard drives :( Unfortunately the B450 DS3H I'm working on has only SATA options for ACHI and RAID, no IDE mode, so I'll have to try on another system and if it works there maybe I can clone that install and restore to this rig.
Glad to hear that you got it working to a point. Also yeah, IDE mode for sata is almost dead so that is another pain windows xp installers have to deal with.
So I gave Easy2Boot a try and got as far as the Welcome to Setup screen. But at that point the lights go out on my keyboard and I am not able to continue because I cannot select ENTER=Continue R=Repair or F3=Quit. I checked my USB settings in BIOS and Legacy USB is enabled, also no joy with old PS2 keyboard either
@@HardwareShenanigans Thanks for letting me know you had the same issue. It means I'm on the right track :) I'm going to give the Getintopc.com_en_win_xp_pro_vl_with_sp3_x86_aug2018.iso a try. I'll get it eventually
Keyboard Missing Solution: press enter IMMEDIATELY and it works. Wait even one-half of a second and the keyboard turns off if it does not detect input. Start spamming that ENTER button as soon as the option to hit F2 disappears. Using a different ISO made no difference
Well, is kinda difficult. A simple USB flash won't do. Try to use this video, it helps a lot: th-cam.com/video/-nZAhE0SetM/w-d-xo.html. Also on what cpu/mobo are you trying to install to?
@@HardwareShenanigans Thanks for the link, I'll give it a shot. So far I've tried installing XP on 2 systems, a GigaByte DS3H B450 with Ryzen 3700X and an Asus Zenith II Extreme Alpha with Threadripper 3970X. The DS3H will not boot from the USB drive (made with Rufus) and install goes normally on the Zenith II until the first reboot into a black screen. My ISO has SATA drivers integrated and others have used Rufus with the same ISO so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Yet

So sorry to hear that. I had the same issue and just used another iso, and that did the trick. Maybe you can give it a shot.

Thank you for this! But how to install XP in 2021? I tried and just got a black screen

Now that I think about it, I might do a video on how to install XP. Should be pretty straightforward.
