For steel framing a magnetic is definitely a win but for what I do ive never really liked them. The magnet collects metal dust and it will stick to nails and screws when you don't want it to. I also dislike the bulk they add to the tip, it makes it a little harder to fit into odd/tight spaces.
Best place for a tape with a magnet is a concrete job. Always guys dropping this or that in the forms, and %99 of what falls in isnt important enough to take anything off to get it. So you just go fishing.
Really great use of the measuring tape, but the end of a measuring tape kind of moves a little so when you measure something by hooking it the tape starts closer to the actual objet (the edge of a desk for example) and when you measure something by pushing it against something the tape starts closer to that (against the wall to measure the floor). So you are maybe off by a couple mm

That movement is intentional. It's there to make up for the thickness of the end piece, to allow for accurate inside and outside measurements.
