You know how you grow up in some place where we are familiar with somethings and others not. And in third world countries you don't have computers at home and the internet. So I guess we were brought up to know only what was in our part of the world. And talking about airplanes, I knew Western made airplanes only. So it was back in 2005 when I first came across the picture of a an-12 airplane on a local newspaper. It was a strange looking aircraft and truly I was curious about it. So later in college, I would go to the school library, who offer internet service, and watch videos of antonov airplanes: engine start, take off and landings. Today with my smartphones and easy access to the internet, I watch 30 to 50 minute trip reports of antonovs, yakolevs, ilyushin and Mi 8 helicopters. And I love watching Russian airplanes.
