The temple is on the top of the hill and is surrounded by 7 hills hence this goddess is also known as "Yelukollada yellamma"(Kannada) or goddess of 7 hills. In karnataka this goddesses is known as "Yellamma devi " and in Maharashtra " Renuka Devi ". "Yellamma" means mother of everyone. Mainly the Jogappa and Jogathi culture originated from this temple. Jogappas are the male brahmacharis who dedicated themselves to goddess renuka yellamma and Jogathi means female brahmacharinis who dedicated themselves to this goddess. The main duty of jogappa and Jogathi is used to sing about the life history, miracles and power of shri renuka yellamma and also they describe about beautiful glory of the place where Goddess is residing. They use a special type of musical instrument which is known as "Chowdaki ".You can hear that instrument's sound in this song. Devotees used to visit Savadatti temple throughout the year but the main Yaatra will be conducted in "Bharat poornima or Chaitra poornima ". The main Prasada of this temple is "Bhandara" ( turmeric powder ). Goddess likes "Bhandara" a lot and the devotees who visit the savadatti temple , they literally mix the flowers and Bhandara and throws on the temple to please the goddess Renuka Yellamma and also they apply that Bhandara on their foreheads. Some devotees, after full filling their wish by the gross mercy of Goddess Renuka Yellamma, ties "Neem leaves" to their waist and takes 5 rounds of the temple. "Udho Udho Yellamma " is the sentence used to praise the Goddess Yellamma and devotees literally used to Chant this sentence throughout their Savadatti Yatra . Once you reach your home after getting darshan of goddess Shri Renuka Yellamma, the next day you have to perform " Parashuram pooja". Because some of the devotees believes that, whoever visit Savadatti temple , goddess shri Renuka will send her son " Parashuram" with devotees to protect them throughout their journey. Conducting " Parashuram pooja " literally means saying thanks to him for protecting them throughout their journey and sending him back to his original place. Unless until you do " Parashuram pooja ", your Savadatti Yatra won't get complete. I'm really happy I watched this movie in the same year it was released, just few months later. I was very young that time so didn't understand some words and scenes. But now when I remember it, I could literally see the whole movie in front of my eyes. Upendra sir's acting is beyond amazing. I can remember his few scenes very clearly even now. Like when he fights with his father and says " wattoda kel mazya aayushyach " or the one where he dances in a baaraat while getting drunk or let it be the suli's abortion or their first intimate scene in the song Jiv ranagala..... It's... It's just marvelous. It's a very sensitive topic and their acting is the cherry on the cake. Music is good too. This song gives hurtful vibes but Jiv rangala is very soothing. I still use to listen them even now. I'm very proud I live in Maharashtra. Maharashtra is full of talent.

I'm really happy I watched this movie in the same year it was released, just few months later.
I was very young that time so didn't understand some words and scenes.
But now when I remember it, I could literally see the whole movie in front of my eyes.
Upendra sir's acting is beyond amazing. I can remember his few scenes very clearly even now.
Like when he fights with his father and says " wattoda kel mazya aayushyach " or the one where he dances in a baaraat while getting drunk or let it be the suli's abortion or their first intimate scene in the song Jiv ranagala.....
It's... It's just marvelous. It's a very sensitive topic and their acting is the cherry on the cake.
Music is good too.
This song gives hurtful vibes but Jiv rangala is very soothing.
I still use to listen them even now.
I'm very proud I live in Maharashtra. Maharashtra is full of talent.
