The dust looks like it was deliberately put into the amplifier, because the dust clearly comes from sawdust. This is just a suggestion, hopefully it can be improved in the future.
they make their own boxes for speakers obviously they stored this near the saw that cuts their boards so i guess you could say it was put in there deliberately mainly due to the place they stored it before they did the restoration
Good job Mr Electricity. I've spent a lot of time repairing and fixing electrical stuff and I know how big a pain in the arse it is. It's a long, tedious job and I'm willing to bet you spent alot more time on this Amp, then what we are seeing in this short video. 👍👍👍👍
With out a scope and no testing of bias, this is not a proper restoration. Just playing music that flashes lights and could be dubbed in editing is lame. Mend it Mark is the real deal. This is bogus.
As some that services and repairs power amplifiers for a living.. I can tell you straight up. This amplifier wasnt even faulty..... He clearly knew this, Because there is NO WAY IN HECK, id power up an amplifier in unknown condition, without a Dim bulb tester or a variac..... The fact that he just plugs it in and switches it on, without any hesitation... Just shows, That he knows its fully working to begin with... Number 1 rule when servicing / repairing amplifiers..... If its condition is unknown.. for your safety, and the amplifiers safety... Use a dim bulb for first power up...

With amps of this age and with the heavy usage they had you always do some other checks like testing caps etc. In Mr Elec vids I only see him checking caps for shorts. No capacity or ESR check. You don’t see him do any adjustments. Checking ripple on power lines, checking for DC offset on the output, checking for oscillation. He just replaces transistors, I believe I once some him match it. All these things are part of the repair proces. There can be so much wrong. no one would ever power up an amp without blowing out the dust first, especially if the covers are already off

One thing, radiator should be free from any paint or oxidation,only clean silvery surface can transfer a heat properly, just advice.
