- In this video I am taking the AKG C411 Contact Mic on a field recording trip. I am sticking the mic to different objects and try to get the most out of them. I want do try to do some sound design with it and on the way i am explaining different facts about this microphone. I am recording into the Mixpre 6 by Sounddevices and listening with my HD25 headphones by Sennheiser.

One of you, (Thanks Davut Engin!) was kind enough to let me know that inside the mic is actually not a piezzoelectric sensor but a true condeser mic in a closed capsule. So I want to clarify what I falsly stated in the video. Nevertheless I recieved the piezzoelectric sensor that I was talking about and hope to film a video about Hydrophones and the process of building one soon. Thanks for watching and sorry for the mistake guys. Love ya'll.
yeah Piezos rely on a crystal plate iirc. They also dont translate the mid frequencies so well in my experience ..you ca boost them but its noisy.
Terrific Video!!! 👌👏
Bought one immediately
Thanks a lot for watching Tomi! Dude I just watched your confound sound video, it absolutely blew my mind. I litteraly had to start crying because it was so epic. You are amazing and incredibly inspiring.
interesting sound of the string) nice texture
Yeah right? That was also my fav sound of this trip
Very interesting, thanks Jonas!
Awesome to see you around here Armando! Thanks a lot for tuning in :)
Very cool video!
Thanks Mel!
I found your work to be incredibly interesting. I am an electrical engineer who works with software here in Brazil and as a hobby I would like to work with animal sounds to study how to attract or repel mosquitoes, study conversation patterns by watching your videos and taking advantage of the moment in artificial intelligence, I think we can work on an interesting project. What do you think?
Thanks for tuning in and your kind comment! Feel free to reach out with the contact infos in my Channel Description :)
Can It be connected to Tascam DR 40x?
Yes it can as far as I know the Tascam has 2 inputs which can be powered with 48 volts :)
@@JonasFasching Thank you!
Its a standard microphone XLR connector. It'll attach to anything with a mic input with phantom.
Are you sure this has a piezzo inside it? Its also called condenser mic. Does it have inside both of them? I’m a bit confused about it. It can take sound from air like condenser mic, but piezzo cannot get it normally. Thank you 🤗
I think you're actually right! I just read a bit more and i think it is a true condenser mic inside the small capsule. So as of my current understanding, there is no piezzoelectric sensor inside... I'm sorry for the false infos, and thanks for your comment. Really appreaciate it.
Go to Min 5:26 and play it at 0,25 Speed = aliens are coming :). This string sounds you found is absolutely amazing! Is it possible to get this recording?
Just tried it out and you're right, pitching this one down sounds amazing haha. Thanks for your comment, really appreciate it. I am currently planing to do a full pack with many different sounds, and I will definitely include it in there as well. Stay tuned and thank you for your interest in it. If you want to make sure to not miss it i recommend to subscribe to my newsletter, I will definitely also post it there when I release it. Link is in the description.
