That crane is a absolute beast. Makes me sad to see the condition of the lumber on the flat car. I don’t have the money but it would be great if someone that did could build a building to put many of these engines and cars that you photograph undercover. A roundhouse type building would be awesome. Thanks for preserving this stuff if only on video.
I was told that the museum is preparing to build a new roundhouse starting this summer. Some of these engines and freight may find themselves under cover soon.
so sad to see all that equipment in that condition. soon it wont be around with that lack of care. and stringing lights over it but not doing any paint work or oiling just angers me
I had a chance to see a Rock Island Steam Railroad Crane operating near Tucumcari, NM in 1947. It was used to clear a wrecked train.

It’s sad to see these machines of the past rusting away! The leaders of that state sould have put them all in warehouses!

I did not even imagine that such dumps could be considered "museums" .... This is a territory for the deliberate destruction of old equipment ....
