I use six 100 watt solar panels wired in parallel to my forty gallon water heater. I switched out the 220 volt elements for two 600 watt 12VDC elements. I ALWAYS have hot water.
Yes.. that's another way to heat water 💧. The efficiency is 20% for costly photovoltaic panels and around 50% for low-cost thermal collectors. So one has to make a choice depending upon requirements.😀
