Dann is a huge influence as a singer, guitar player, songwriter and producer. Always playing and performing stellar parts. I’m working on my debut album and there will be a tip of the hat on it for Dann and Giant.

Dann and Gordon Kennedy are two of my biggest guitar influences. Listen to the track Tearing Down the Wall on Michael W Smith's Big Picture album for the "I quit playing guitar" moments and then take two hours of your life with the i 2 (EYE) and Amy Grant's Lead Me On Album back to back . Both made in the same year, at some of the same studios. Dan OWN'S those albums - he helped make them some of THE best CCM albums of the late 80's. Brown Bannister and MWS called Dann to do that over and over again...

Got into Tim Pierce and Steve Lukather over the last couple months, now diving deeper. This is really great stuff!

Every player and guitar teacher I know - consider D. Huff to be
an absolute beast of a player.

Chris: What a treasure of a podcast. It gave me a short list of things to go back and listen to, in order to stay inspired as a retired, stay at home, amateur guitar player.
This one had some real chemistry. Ironically, something you guys talked about quite a bit. I always love an opportunity to be allowed to look behind the curtain in Nashville. Thanks!
Gotta go. I see that Tom Bucovac just put up a Homeschooling episode, haha, thanks again.

John, producer Daena here! Thank you so much for listening and for the kind words! It's always an awesome thing to watch Chris talk with a guest that he's known for a long time, especially with a legend like Dann. Thank you again and will pass this along to Chris.

Screw country (even though I love it) this guy is one of the best sessions guitarists from the 80s aside from Landau and Lukather

It is a mistake to refer to Dan Huff as " one of the most underrated guitar players" - he's great talents are just not known unless you dig deep into guitar playing culture..
However, to dig less it would be beneficial if he released a new solo album..maybe just for the sake of art. We are waiting for one , Dan...
Those dinosaur players scouring youtube for any shred of his playing are lying in wait to jump at the chance to spread the word of his amazing melodic chops to the younger players.
Some of his guitar breaks are among the most memorable , tuneful and singable moments in music ever! Real ear worms..

True - 99% of people have probably heard Dann's guitar playing without even knowing it!! Thanks for listening 😁
