Peep Show is a British television sitcom starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb.
Even Mark's accent gets more posh when he gets more power
Natural progression
Which way will Caeser Corrigans thumb point?
He turns in to the bond villain character
yes posher but the reason why is he was imitating Jez's parents, who he had just spent dinner with. You can hear it in 'do you agree?' Pretty obvious but not to all of you
@@taotoo2 Yeh he does, he is SO good at that. Suits him well somehow.
Mark’s megalomania really comes out in this scene
Mark has a combination of extremely high and extremely low opinions about himself. It's like a huge structure built up as tall as possible neglecting the foundations.
I get the feeling this entire scene influenced David Cameron, Kenneth Clarke & Theresa May to sit down and discuss austerity.
This scene, and the onion bhaji scene too.
@@newperve I'd think it would be more unusual to have uniformly high or uniformly low opinions of yourself.
@@newperve this is me, it comes out especially when I’m drunk
Mark's smug face in this is so funny. David Mitchell is a great actor.
As long as he's playing himself :D
I don't think he was acting on Peep Show
nonce 💀
I love how they all discuss Jez like he's a child.
Well he does act like one
He kinda is haha
The only thing that separates Jeremy from a child is the ability and desire to frequently masturbate
Well in all fairness, mentally and several examples of how he approaches life, he is.
He is a man child
Love how Mark's accent becomes more posh when he comes home
He has recently become the Master of Coin, so it's inevitable
He turns into that blond supervillain in mitchell and webb look
I noticed that, that velvet posh voice emerges
Cubby legolas from clippo.
‘No, no it’s not actualleh’ cracked me up
"I would literally stab a baby to do it."
"Yes Martin I think I would.".
Mark's inner monologue here is golden
Mark's unnecessary dramatic pause at 1:35 lmao. Also love his shit-eating smile at 2:45
Yes! Plus the smug double blink!
internalising lots of shit at 1:07
don’t do the pause mark, you’re not davina
"It's me. I'm in charge of your money." I love how Jez just instantly knows to distrust him.
The high point of Caesar Corrigan's life, no question.
This, the book club twat and the ridding of drug fiends in favour of radio 4.

“And I got a tiramisu! This is fucking amazing!!!” 😂 😆
Such joy
the whole gummo dimbleby middle class laughing thing was so well acted and spot on
You know there was a sixth Marx brother, Manny.
"i got your balls in a vise, i'm the iron chancellor"- johnson would be proud.
No shade, but I think it's a vice ☺️
@@filipzawistowski4390 vice=immoral activity, hence vice squad. vise=a metal tool with movable jaws.
@@bassreeves2410 I can only apologise 🤣 I'll Google before I try to correct someone next time ☺️
@@bassreeves2410 UK spelling is 'vice' for both
@@phillipjames13 ok. so, mark's use of the word chancellor makes even more sense :vice chancellor.
Haha Marks evil posh accent as he gains more power 😂
Love it how you can see Mark trying to tell the joke as soon as she mentioned dimblebury
"You're a very witty chap, Mark. Which is sort of the reason I asked you tonight. I want to..."
These characters were so well written and acted.
“Don’t do the pause Mark, you’re not Davina”
It’s lines like this that make me wonder how anyone from outside of the U.K. “gets” Peep Show.
I am not only outside of the U.K, I also don't speak English natively. I have to say that I personally do not have enough difficulties regarding the references mentioned in the show. Initially, I did had trouble with some of the pop culture references given in the show, but a small browsing on Google certainly fixed those blocks.
Mexico (where I'm from) and the U.K, albeit have different languages, still have very minor cultural similarities which makes some of the situations in British comedy relatable and understandable. These very small cultural similarities are due to both countries belonging in the west. If I had been born in Afghanistan I bet I'd have a harder time watching Peep Show.
@@Equinoxe-gp9sq Your written English is better than half the natives.
I'm from Russia and i didn't get the Davina reference, although i googled the name and understood that she is a part of royal family. Still i get the vibe of the 'peep show' in general, even though some details slip through my fingers
@@ДмитрийРомащенко-г2б I hope that was a joke, davina is not the royal family
@@ДмитрийРомащенко-г2б by Davina, he means Davina McCall. She used to present U.K. Big Brother. That’s who he is referencing.
He’s doing the evil voice.
At least he was able to stop himself from literally rubbing his hands together this time.
Some courts do not accept the evil voice
"There's always conditions mark you can ignore conditions"
Mark just digging a hole for himself.
This is well up there on my favourite peep show scenes - absolutely brilliant writing and acting!
I agree, doesn't rely on extreme cringe factor.
I wonder what the obsession with Corfu is about, it’s mentioned at least 4 times
Corfu 06 ?
Yeah it’s ok man- I’ve never gone that far myself, but everything’s fine in dobby club
yeah I've noticed that myself as well. they do mention it around four times throughout the whole show and I'm not sure if it's an inside joke or reference or if it's literally just the case that one of the writers really likes Corfu so whenever they have to refer to some place abroad they tend to fall back on it.
It's a generic middle class holiday destination.
Super Hans often references Germany for some reason.
Chance would be a fine thing...
A fine thing indeed!
J Ygb kinda like “wouldn’t that be something?”
Promises, promises.
...and relax.
2:10 that Masterpiece Theater sit
i like how the video still has #Gunny because it made so much of an impact
The only time nothing goes wrong with Mark
and eventually it does when Martin snatches the diaries back from Mark in the hotel lol
Apart from that big slobbery kiss on his forehead
@UCRq7mR5MLQ9B6H-HyhOMCHA but it wasn't bum rape.
@@scoopermg8226 does anyone have that clip I can't find it anywhere, I thought I saw it the other week
@@scoopermg8226 O-off you go.
This is one of my favourite scenes in the whole show!
2:49 That was the most shit eating, shit eating grin I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing, bravo.
*2:48** it all started with that smile... that damn smile*
I love how indignant Jeremy is about Mark being the trustee for his inheritance when Mark literally paid £4,000 out of pocket to cover his dumb ass. Mark should've just let Johnson press charges against Jeremy for committing credit card fraud.
Jeremy had to pay him back in installments. I think it came out of the dead gwen bananza
"Don't do the pause mark, your not devina"
The genius of PS is that whilst Mark and Jez behave appallingly, they are still loveable. Plus it’s pant wettingly funny
Mark was looking sharp in that suit
I love that you can see Mark lining up his joke the moment he hears the word Dimbleby
Mark here is a long haired white wig away from replicating exactly the villain from That Mitchell and Webb Look
Detective Harrison has become a... *nuisance*
Yeah, a nuisance we should murder! I mean, my nephew's a nuisance but... do you see what I mean?
Mark is so smug throughout this entire scene
ODB!
@@paulphoenix1669 he was an rapper
I just decided to use "You beatiful man" as a normal sentence in my daily life. If it hits back I will warn everyone.
Jeremy never pays rent and still expects to do so after receiving a share of the dead Gwen bonanza.
"Jonathan Dimbleby was talking about offset mortgages on some Radio 4 programme yesterday."
That sentence sounds like it was generated by a Boomer Little Englander algorithm.
No, no its not actually.............its me
70 quid a week, so slightly more than 280 a month? Haha, Mark, you evil bastard.

Gummo Dimbleby
The best British comedy show of the last 40-years
Marks accent is amazing
Given Jez owes Mark however many months' rent, it would be very silly of him to say Jez shouldn't be given a wedge of money.
A great show from start to finish!
The iron chancellor brilliant lol
It's just the most brilliant comedy!! I'm absolutely stoked to find a copy of PEEP SHOW, The Scripts and More in Oxfam shop yesterday, for just £4!!! Happy days.
Jez has finances? That are actually his?
It's an inheritance from a dead relative.
Martin and Jackie, wonder where I've heard that before
Do you agree?
Of course I agree, obviously I agree.
the military guy has a mega voice. Sophie's dad as well
And I've got a tiramisu!
Great show but sometimes it cuts deep like I know people just like these two its scary 😨
"has control over," or "in control of"
Brilliant. Love it!
Per my research, this restaurant, “Bavo”, is still open. You UK folks better go for the sake of all us American fans.
£130 a week for rent AND loan repayments isn't really that bad at all. I'm paying £116 a week for my rent (no loan repayments yet).
Steven sounds like the perfect life honestly
What's the rate against the USD? Rent is a lot more expensive in the UK of course.
@@zapkvr £1 is $1.27, which I found through the awesome power of a google search.

£130 for rent. In a 2 people London flatshare. My God this show is old.
Its a sublet... I doubt Jeremy actually has his name on a tenancy agreement...
Which way will Caesar Corrigan's thumb point?
With Mark responsible managing his finances, Jeremy should have… *enough money to last forever*
Which episode is this? Magnificent!
somehow just noticed how abusive their relationship is
At least it's mutually-abusive.
co-dependent.
He didnt have to agree. Hes free to turn the money down.
Mark plays God over Jez's financial future. Jeremy appreciates Mark 'decent side' is in control. NOT!
The wife looks like she could be Sophie's mother
You're not Davina 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Youre my dad now.
£520 for rent and loan repayments is ridiculously cheap 😅😅
Manfred Dimbleby - the lost sixth Dimbleby
If a waiter actually delivered a dish completely wordlessly that would be really rude in the real world 🤣
Nah, fancy restaurant, people clearly having a convo, easy peasy.
A millionaire? That’s insane.
If I recall correctly it was actually 10 grand. Jez really isn't good with finances
Tirramie Sue
Love how David Mitchell over acts this 🤣
Is that what's called a Hobson's choice?
I'd have laughed at a third Dimbleby. Maybe I'm getting more like Mark and less like Jez with age.
Davina!!!
Gummo!
Zeppo
What did that guy mean when he said "my time in the Scots"?
I'm guessing he means his past experiences in the Scots Guards which is it's own regiment
One of the things that make this show so very, very good ... even if people from outside of Britain don't always understand all of the British references ... the writers are well-versed on American Culture / movies / music / American slang ...
I've just discovered Peep Show within the last few days. I can't stop watching !
Ah yes because as we know Americans are the centre of all culture and references. They are quite frankly the most cultured and best people in the world. AMERICA IS THE CENTRE OF THE WORLD AND EVERY WRITER SHOULD CATER TO THE AMERICANS.
