Every reason you gave for your disappointment has convinced me that I need these palettes. Your disappointment is valid, but pink/purple/red tones, shimmers that can be worn either barely there or intense... All those are what I love about eyeshadows
Yea, same haha. She seemed to talk about the rosiness as if it was a bad thing, and that certain brownish shades were supposed to be brown or nude, but looked rosy. The thing is, these shades will look nude on someone with pink or red undertones. I feel like she's faulting the color story a lot for something that seems like more of a preference and undertone issue. I really liked all of the looks she made, and thought they all looked different, and weren't that repetitive 🤷♀️ It's a shame the formula isn't as nice as it could be, but I really disagree with her saying the deep palette, especially, isn't nude, when it's made for people with deep skin and red undertones. Idk when I saw these palettes and the swatches, it seemed very obvious that every single palette was rosy and would give a pinky/red look. Idk where people are getting the idea that these palettes were going to be a true brown nude/neutral palette. Plenty of palettes that most people consider nude look garish on me and would not be nude for my skintone, so I dont feel like that criticism is warranted. I can understand being disappointed if you were expecting something different, but that's not really a fault of the palette, ya know?
I got the palettes, all three because I can never resist a set. I love how rosy they show up on me, and I have pink undertones. The colours are just so pretty, basically what I wanted from the Naked 3 palette back in the day! I can do soft looks, or I can go all out, even with the light palette.
Anya you are correct. Nude is a term that means beiges and browns etc. Browns and beiges with different depths and understones, that mimic different skintones. Somehow, people/brands have decided in time, that more vibrant reds, oranges, pinks etc are nudes. Thats not what it meant originally. But at the end of the day, there aren't really any rules and we cam just have fun with it. 😊
I really like this concept but as someone with dark skin with golden-olive undertones, these are way too red-toned to be nude on me and I don't really like wearing pink/red tones in general. I hope this concept becomes a trend though
These pallets make me want to go through my eyeshadows to find the same colors . I know I have them already, but I haven't reached for them in a while.
Kat... Your timing is perfect. So I have been staring at these since they came out. Trying to restrain myself because I just didn't know. Then today I got a sephora coupon (one of those you don't shop here please come back ones) and your in depth review was much needed and helped me decide. They are my vibe and I need them!!!!!
Charlotte Curling-Kedward i got the light one and I love the mattes, the shimmers I apply them with a finger and they look gorgeous. I’m thinking on getting the rich(dark) one
Huda has had one of the best nose jobs i ever seen!. I've not tried anything huda yet but i understand her poundcaje powder is good - controversy surrounding it - something to do with beauty bakeries brand 😕
I'm really not one for natural, nude looks but after I saw your swatches I REALLY want the light palette. Those four metallic/duochrome shades look AMAZING.
That's what sucked me in too....and then I realised I had comparable colourpop/drugstore shadows already! It sounds like huda quality isn't on par with its price.
@@mehressagreen4615 lol,the metallics on the Huda light nude palette are extremely shiny.Your drugstore eyeshadows are not comparable in any way.Have you even tried the palette?Idk why you are spreading misinformation.
@@slex9956 Pitch Black Pitch Black well, from even this video they actually aren't that intense. She said she needed glitter to even make them stand out. BH, Colourpop, ChiChi, all have had intense metallics. And dont get me started on how indie eyeshadows get a cut above all of them.
I feel like colour pop could do a good job making a collection like this. They do those 9 pan monochromatic palettes really well and always seem to be taking request on their Instagram...
Not my cup of tea. I'm not even sure what nude is anymore! These look very much the same to me and pinky. You, however, rocked them as hard as you could possibly! Thanks Kat!
Emmi Su Nudes are brownish shades.. theoretically. However, makeup is supposed to be creative, and Huda seems to be super into pinky/rossy tones, so it makes sense that her “nude” palettes aren’t “traditional” nudes. I personally really love how these palettes look, but I’m also very into pinky tones
Your reviews are the BEST ON TH-cam, I’ll say it again and again lol you’re so helpful omg. 😍 and I loveeee your eye looks, you have such beautiful eyes
That purple look was gorgeous on you! I can see why she picked those shades for the light palette. Huda likes pink-tones as nudes instead of browns. That was obvious as soon as I saw these and then you can look at her New Nude palette. I'm not at all surprised you didn't find browns lol. Oh and you can foil shadows with setting spray or Inglot Duraline and it'll work better than water or something hydrating like Fix+. Gah! Makes me want the Medium palete since those shades would really suit my medium skintone
The shimmers on the light nude look AMAZING when applied with fingers, which is pretty much the case with every metallic shade, but I don't know why people fail to realise that and keep trying to use them with a brush.Of course they will look chunky and sheer, cause there isn't that dense, flat surface (like a finger)that will press them and smooth them out.
I wish I had your eye for pairing colors. I cannot overstate how perfect your style of doing makeup is to me. You also make the absolute best, most thorough review videos 🥰
Love this indepth review style. Thanks for your work. You can tell how much you put into this review. Beauty community needs more like this!! Excellent!

This video actually cemented my eventual purchase of the light palette - believe it or not I don't actually have a pink-toned palette and have been looking for the perfect capsule one with all the right shades for me in one place, at least half shimmer and with a very light colour for me to be able to blend dark shades on my skin tone. I was tossing this up because I thought it was too nude but your review clarified the colours for me. Thanks for being a great reviewer, Kat!
I have the light and I love it!! They wear like iron on me (I use a Mac paint pot) and I don’t wear a glitter glue. I love the light ethereal sparkly look it gives me. A foiled lid is more dramatic to me. This is my light nude palette and I love it! I think the pink looked amazing on you!
I like a subtle sparkle too, I definitely don't like a bold look every day, but I just found that some of these shades (mainly the medium and deeper shimmer shades) applied very patchy when you apply them quite sheerly. So I like sheer, just not patchy sheer :)
I wanted to get the medium palette and somehow ended up getting the light one. It looks so pink on my skin tone! And now I want the rich one. Absolutely love the last look you created and the dark purple shade is so beautiful!
dude !! the images on these nearly sucked me in ... luckily I have a Kat in my life that stops my foolishness .. love youse x .. from here on .. if u haven't reviewed it and liked it .. I am not buying it .. you are like my unassigned no buy partner :)
Honestly, I’ve been interested in some of these small palettes for a while, and these have been the most interested to me. I like browns, but if I do go for color, it is typically purple or a berry/pink. However, the shadows that I have in those color families are all matte. These would be nice. I do understand all of your points (and really appreciate them). I’m thrilled that you gave your honest opinion on all of them because I didn’t know if I was only going to grab one, all, or none of them
Thanks for saving me 💰 I was interested in the rich, even though I’m not a fan of the Huda formula I’ve tried. But seeing it demonstrated I feel like that was one of the issues I had with the mauve obsessions palette. All the colours blended into something very rosy and brighter than I expected from looking at the shades in the pan.
Yeah I love the concept of these, but they definitely all pulled way more pink-red than I expected. Also the lightest one does look like a mini version of the New Nude palette, which I already have and rarely use, so probs a no from me lol Thank you for your dedication even through being sick!! Great detailed video, as always
Your eyeshadow looks are so pretty and the palettes are also very nice, but I feel like I already have all this colors with all my ColourPoP palettes and singles and my ABH palettes and UD Naked palettes. I’m almost certain that I can dupe them all
The nude light’s shimmers are better applied with fingers tbh. The pinky gold is soooo pretty when you use a cream base (I use a pink lipstick or cream blush) and patted on top. It always makes me feel pretty and I’ve gotten a couple of compliments!
I strongly dislike how warm and pink/berry toned they are. Didn't plan on buying them but that video was very informative and would probably convince me to get at least one of those palettes if it was my colour preference. I agree with you that this is not it. They are beautiful but just leaning too much one way to make them that universal
@kitschsnitch if you love deep rich browns, the last two shades in the UD Naked Cherry palette are wonderful. Didn't expect it but those two ended up being my favourites. Going to try to recreate some looks from this video using what I already have. Thanks for the consistently quality content.
Knew I waited for this review for a reason... I've always thought Huda's palettes were overpriced for the formula you get. It's frustrating because the colour stories are always so pretty in the pan but the formula seems to disappoint everytime. I'm drawn to reds so the rich palette really makes me want to buy it but I know I'd regret it based on the formula. Maybe if they go on sale I'd consider it but sadly most of the time I think I'm better off waiting for a dupe that ironically usually have a better formula for fraction of the price. I have a real desert dusk and a dupe of the rose gold and the formula of the dupe is so much better yet cost a quarter of the price. Great review as always... thanks Kat!
I have the New Nude and it works wonders on my skin cause mauve and cool tones suit me, but I wouldn’t buy them, cause they look like the one I have. That being said you rocked each and every one of the looks as always. I also really like your hair down. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❄️❄️❄️❄️☃️⛄️The way this world has turned out is that people will be offended because of how you do your shadow. First world problems. Don’t apologize. Much love.
You are so right about the Huda mini palette. I hate fall out with glitter on my face, and when I tried to build it up (or damp) it got flaky and chunks fell off. Huge let down. I'm not a professional, but pink isn't nude! LOL Have a blissful day!
I loved the colour stories of these, and then I had a play with my Chichi timeless beauty palette. Rediscovered some old and lovely shades and I believe i can find all of these colours basically already in my collection. I miiiight pick up the ChiChi mauve 9 pan one on black Friday though 😛
I love these. Ordered two of them but now want the third. Shimmer shades have fall out but I have more fall out from other brands inc Natascha Denona. The light is very pink. Didn’t think I’d like it but every time I wear it people tell me I look amazing. The medium is more my cup of tea and is my favorite of the two. I think you looked great with all nine looks. Huda is selling a pack with all three, a makeup pouch and fake lashes for £81 on cult beauty (free shipping for orders over £40) for anyone looking to buy all three
I got quite a lot of glitter fallout with the Nude Light palette when I used it. The only other Obsession palette I got significant fallout with was Emerald & that was only one shade (of course it was my favorite shade to use & turned out to be one of those flakey toppers) I was very drawn to the Nude Deep but passed on it since I already own Mauve & Ruby Obsession & this looked very similar. I generally mix & match with the Obsession palettes & use them like I would singles. I think they're more versatile that way since as you pointed out, you can only get a limited amount of looks from each palette. Nude Light is too subtle & light for me to use it on its own & I'm pretty fair in skintone, but I knew that going in & got it to use with my other Obsession palettes. I think people who don't change their look much & like a quick shimmer on the eyelid with maybe a matte in the crease would love these Nude Palettes. Huda seems to lean heavy into rose/mauve/pink tones in her "nude" palettes so just be aware of that if you're considering purchasing. Believe it or not, if you want a neutral brown eyeshadow palette from the Obsession collection--try the Smokey lol. It is neutral browns, warm & cool champagne shimmers & black.
Hi Kat, I've never bought any Huda, because I don't like her as a person, but I was seriously considering these. I almost always wear glitter glue (indie one called Pixie Epoxy by Fyrinnae, works like magic) with my shimmers on a daily basis, because I like the more intense look. I like my shimmers to be interesting, but neutral (no rainbow colors) and I don't have a lot or rosey/mauve mattes. So these could work for me, right?
I have two huda palettes.... not impressed with the quality on either and like you said, the actual applied shade I find surprising. They always look amazing as palettes though! Still want to try the light nude palette ...🤦🏻♀️
Yeah I completely agree. The quality isn't my fave but you can create really beautiful looks and at the end of the day I would prefer a beautiful look that takes a bit more effort than an easy palette to work with that creates average looks.
I’ll just stick with my ABH soft glam or any other neutral palette in my collection. I don’t need another nude palette. I love this tutorial. It convinced me that I did not need this palette. I always think I want a nude eyeshadow palette, regardless of how many I have in my collection.
I was so drawn to the light palette because I don't have anything that lavender in my collection but I ended up getting the mercury in retro palette and just love it. Not sure if you are getting that palette but would love to see your review on it
I love rosy browns and rose colours but the fickle nature of the shimmers puts me off. I feel as though, if you already have the UD Naked Cherry palette, you could probably reproduce most looks from the medium and the rich palettes.
I got the Light Nude after I saw them swatched on Instagram but the Rich Nude one was mine basically before it even hit the shelves 😂 I love love love the Rich Nude one! The Medium toned one basically looks like a copper penny and not nude for me.
Coco Flannel the medium reminded me of the Naked Heat. I have the Naked Heat so I Had to pass on the medium even though it’s so so beautiful. I went with the rich and I did a basic eye but it was eye catching cuz the shimmers have glitter so i was sparkling lol.. gorgeous Smokey eyes for night outs
Watching this I'm thinking if you have Desert Dusk you don't need any of these palettes. I pulled my DD palette out a few days ago as I haven't used it for a while and the looks I've done have been pretty similar to what you've done Kat.
I like the look of the Light palette, but I mean nude & pretty particularly in pink tones is kind of what I have been loving. I also use toppers most days anyway, so it doesn’t super bother me that the shimmers a lot of the time act like toppers. It’s probably also just because I am only really going to university most of the time & even super nude looks are over the top compared to what everyone else is wearing.
I bought the medium palette and it’s SO rosy-toned. Idk it’s not really what I had expected/wanted. I’m very fair so maybe I should’ve gotten the light? But, like you, I wasn’t really drawn to that one.
Can you tell which lipstick you´re wearing at the beginning of the Video, before you show the swatches? I´m still searching for my perfect nude and i think this one you have on your lips is near to perfect for me =)
Sorry! I usually try to put my makeup in, but because this video took over 3 weeks to create I forgot the makeup I used. Honestly I can't recognise it, which generally means I applied a gloss over lipstick to make a custom combo.
@@KitschSnitch Okay. It looked like an easy creamy Lipstick. Thanks a lot for your answer=) And thanks for your review. I liked the "rich" one, but if it´s so difficult to use..näh...=/
I didn't let it set on many of the looks and it didn't make any difference. I don't actively set my primer, it's just that in the time between doing my base makeup and then setting up the camera, it sets. The looks that I didn't create on camera were all over primer that I didn't let set. I have tried these palettes since with other primers and they apply in a very similar way. The glitter glue is what really helps the shimmers :)
Hi! New subscriber here! I’m bing watching your tutorials! I love how you can do looks with only 2-4 shades and that your are not packing 3 shades just in the crease! 😁 I bough the lighter one and I just need to play with it a little more...
I have both the heat and cherry, and even though some of the tones are similar, the depth and sparkly effects are very different to the naked palettes :)
I had the same initial impression of these palettes.. I thought these will be awesome as nude basic every day palettes with variation for every skin tone, light, medium and deep.. and I was actually pretty excited about it but seeing the swatches and the looks people have created with it, disappoints very much.. its not as strictly nude as one anticipates.. yes there are nude elements but not enough to make it totally nude what with them pulling purple and red and all.. this had so much potential...
All of her mini palettes are made in China. I don't mention where products are made, because realistically it doesn't impact the quality, it's just a perception that people often have. Often brands make products in China to cut production costs and make larger quantities faster, but if they are willing to spend more money on ingredients they can make very high quality products in Chinese factories. Being made in the US or Italy does not guarantee quality.
I have all three just wish that each one would have it's own brow shade or inner corner highlight shade. Kind of pointless to have this as travel or grab one palette on the go if you have to grab another for a light shade. But quality I love. I love the IT cosmetics but it's a love hate relationship too! I wipe it off on the opening of the mascara, once I get it off it applies nicely.
@@a.j.9098 It's when the top layer of a pressed powder gets hard and you can't get a color payoff from it anymore. It kinda seals over itself. You can fix it by scratching the hard pan off with a paper towel, but sometimes it'll keep hardening up.
I think she should have put out 9 little palettes: a light / med / dark for warm / neutral / cool undertones to suit more skin tones. Would have appealed to a larger consumer base than only pinky shades that don’t suit everyone
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why they are called nude palettes but they’re so pink/purple/mauve/plum heavy like no true browns or skin tone shades. Should have marketed as roses nudes for each skin tone.
I would imagine the Rich palette wouldn't look so intense red/pink on a deeper skintone. Gorgeous in any case, but you aren't going to get a nude or light application using Rich on your skintone.

Happy to see your opinion on these. Thanks!
LOL
Have a blissful day!
Kat has beautiful eyes! Those shadows look gorgeous, I would like to see the nude palettes paired with Victoria Beckham eyeliner pencil.
I loved the colour stories of these, and then I had a play with my Chichi timeless beauty palette. Rediscovered some old and lovely shades and I believe i can find all of these colours basically already in my collection. I miiiight pick up the ChiChi mauve 9 pan one on black Friday though 😛
loved the last look
I feel like I could get similar looks with stuff I already have, was interested but won’t bother now 😒
I love these.
I do the same thing as you. I add the shimmer first and find it easier to blend the crease afterwards.
I’ll just stick with my ABH soft glam or any other neutral palette in my collection. I don’t need another nude palette. I love this tutorial. It convinced me that I did not need this palette. I always think I want a nude eyeshadow palette, regardless of how many I have in my collection.
Cheers for this. I had been tempted but not so much now.
I was so drawn to the light palette because I don't have anything that lavender in my collection but I ended up getting the mercury in retro palette and just love it. Not sure if you are getting that palette but would love to see your review on it
I’m not getting that palette sorry, I don’t wear pastels often. Hopefully you enjoy it 😊
What are you're favourite brown eyeshadow pallettes? I was hoping to get some nice browns out of these
I am still on the hunt for my favourite brown toned palette :)
@kitschsnitch Please do a video with favourite brown eye shadows at some point. Don't have to be from the same palette. Would love that.
I wanted to get all of them, but I'll wait until Primark of Beauty Glazed makes dupes of these. Thank you for the swatches!
You can also try ChiChi's range, especially the 9 pan palettes.
Is it worth buying these if you already own the Huda Beauty Big Nude palette? What is your opinion please. You look stunning with all the looks Kat :)
Just looked at swatches of the medium palette online, and it looks a lot like the midpoint of the Urban Decay Naked Heat and Naked Cherry palettes
Catherine Ginn Naked Heat for sure, it’s gorgeous and sexy for sure
All of us that have watched this video can make a purchase with an educated, informed choice - thank you 👍🏻
I love rosy browns and rose colours but the fickle nature of the shimmers puts me off. I feel as though, if you already have the UD Naked Cherry palette, you could probably reproduce most looks from the medium and the rich palettes.
the kitties are back
I got the Light Nude after I saw them swatched on Instagram but the Rich Nude one was mine basically before it even hit the shelves 😂 I love love love the Rich Nude one! The Medium toned one basically looks like a copper penny and not nude for me.
I definitely think the Rich one is the best too! It's beautiful (I'm even wearing it now haha)
Wonderfully thorough review. I thought nude was neutral skintone mattes and shimmers. These are pink and purple :(
I like the look of the Light palette, but I mean nude & pretty particularly in pink tones is kind of what I have been loving. I also use toppers most days anyway, so it doesn’t super bother me that the shimmers a lot of the time act like toppers. It’s probably also just because I am only really going to university most of the time & even super nude looks are over the top compared to what everyone else is wearing.
Are these limited edition? And, Kat, thank you for the honest reviews. Always check your videos before making a big purchase!
I believe they are permanent xox
What glitter glue is your favourite Kat?
Beauty news did an episode comparing glitter glues recently!
@@literalmomfriend Thank you, I shall check it out x
I bought the medium palette and it’s SO rosy-toned. Idk it’s not really what I had expected/wanted. I’m very fair so maybe I should’ve gotten the light? But, like you, I wasn’t really drawn to that one.
I always walk away from this channel so influenced 😂
A complete review of all the huda mini palettes to help me choose, because they are all very beautiful and similar.
Thanks a lot for your answer=)
And thanks for your review. I liked the "rich" one, but if it´s so difficult to use..näh...=/
These 9 pans from Huda always draw me in but the price pushes me away, glad to see the formula isn't so great!
I wonder if not letting your primer set would have improved the shimmers, or maybe even using a different primer altogether.
Medium and Rich remind me of Urban Decay Heat and Cherry. As for Light, looks as a New Nudes mini.
Sorry if you mentioned and I overheard.. are these manufactured in Italy or China?
So beautiful with your hair down.😘
I've been wanting to try Huda shadows, but I've heard the formula gets hard pan quickly :/ I'm still on the fence about it.
AlcideIzMine what is hard pan?
@@a.j.9098 It's when the top layer of a pressed powder gets hard and you can't get a color payoff from it anymore. It kinda seals over itself. You can fix it by scratching the hard pan off with a paper towel, but sometimes it'll keep hardening up.
AlcideIzMine oooh I didn’t know there was a word for that lol. Thank you!
@@a.j.9098 you're welcome!
I think she should have put out 9 little palettes: a light / med / dark for warm / neutral / cool undertones to suit more skin tones. Would have appealed to a larger consumer base than only pinky shades that don’t suit everyone
I managed to get these 50% off because of a Sephora app glitch, but now I'm considering returning them
I bought the light , returned ,, the shimmers where horrible , got the medium , it’s ok
K Ham oh no! I really want the Light palette 😢
I use my fingers to apply the shimmer shades.
You can definitely do that. I do explain in the video why I prefer a glitter glue, but its definitely an option :)
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why they are called nude palettes but they’re so pink/purple/mauve/plum heavy like no true browns or skin tone shades. Should have marketed as roses nudes for each skin tone.
Nope. I was excited when I first saw these but pink shadow looks horrible on me. I'm very fair but also have an oliveish undertone.
For the light palette it really is my nudes. I am very pale and cool toned so my dark circles are purple and a lot of my pigmentation is pink lol
E J same. I hate pinks/purples on me too and I’m a pale olive
@@a.j.9098 I'm curious as to why you hate them, as I'm fair olive and I prefer them over brown! I almost never wear straight brown.
Mehressa Green they bring out the hereditary dark circles under my eyes lol. Purples especially! And I always wear concealer
💜💜💜tfs💜💜💜
I would imagine the Rich palette wouldn't look so intense red/pink on a deeper skintone. Gorgeous in any case, but you aren't going to get a nude or light application using Rich on your skintone.
As sparkly as those shimmers swatched I'm not too suprised it needed a glitter glue
