it's in 4/4 to change tempo to approximate a 29/16 time signature. saying '4/4 but changes tempo' is kinda useless when somebody wants to actually perform it
@@Vinnie_728 This explanation is extremely reductive. That's just how the game's code interprets it for the purposes of the Sound Battle system. Technically, any song could be written in any time signature as long as the tempo were different throughout.

Oh my _god._ I usually shy away from restorations because of how often I've found them to just feel like shallow MIDI instrument-swaps that miss the small details and even big things like effects that were done by the hardware (like the pitch bending that features heavily throughout this OST), but your work on the Mother 3 soundtrack is consistently fantastic. This sounds EXACTLY how I would wish for it to sound if Mother 3 were ever remade. Freaking _flawless._
this is tough enough since it's supposed to be in 29/16 but the way that the song works is that it speeds up and slows down sporadically and because of that the time signature is a huge decimal that can only be approximated to 29/16

Funny story, this song isn't actually in 29/16. It's actually closer to 28.666/16, and with a bit of mathematical fandangling, that works out to 43/16 if you count the timpani hits as dotted quarter notes.
It was just now confirmed that this song is 4/4 with tempo changes. And now that we know the numbers, the most accurate and smallest time signature is 36,120/65,536. Absolutely deranged
