Final Fantasy X (Lowest Turn Count) Ep. 12 - Auto-Leveling and Sinspawn Gui

In Mushroom rock O'aka has a few weapons to sell. One of them,
Avenger, gives Tidus Counter attack. This allows me to farm the area for ambushes in hopes that Tidus gets hit. At this point I can't backtrack to a safer area. I don't necessarily need to Level Tidus, but I need some gil to also buy the TKO for Wakka which gives him Stonetouch. (Which I forgot to do, lol) Also I used my Strength Sphere on Tidus so I can do more damage with my counter attacks. The bad part about this is that I can't even cheat. I have to do it honestly because if I were to just do random battles and defend or escape with other characters, while Tidus does the work, they other characters still get EXP.
As an added benefit to all of this auto-leveling. I've just learned that Aeons gain boosted stats every 30 battles you participate in, up to 600 battles. Even if nothing happens! So I'm also using the opportunity to do that too. With this new knowledge, Ideally I would have done this in Besaid, Which means I have some post-game update videos to make, to update the turn counts. But I did auto-leveling until my aeon's stats stopped going up. I don't think it was quite 600 though. So maybe it can still go higher and there's a larger gap I need to fight.
For Sinspawn Gui part 1, we swap in Yuna and then Grand Summon Ifrit. My Overdrives now do 9999 with Aeons, so that'll be a tremendous source of damage moving forward. Finish things off with a Meteor strike. It does slightly more damage than attack and if it's also slightly slower often giving enemies and extra turn to refill my overdrive.
For part 2. We're forced to spend a turn with Seymour before we can resummon Ifrit. 2 Meteor Strikes is enough to finish things up.
Sorry about the low volume, I turned it down in the settings when i was grinding, so I could watch anime while I grind, and forgot to turn it back up.

Ah, so that's the discovery you made! I was aware Aeon stats grew through fighting, but I thought it required actually winning fights, not just participating in them, interesting for sure, and quite the game changer for you!

Good stuff. I considered telling you about the Aeon stats thing in one of the earlier vids, but didn't want to backseat :) Just as a note, at "max" natural stats just from fighting random enemies, Valefor can oneshot Sin's Fin with any spell (or Overdrive) and kill Geneaux in a single Overdrive too. Chocobo Eater of course requires two turns since you can't break the damage limit. Having in mind that you can oneshot even Lord Ochu, it might potentially even be a turn gain in the long run to fight him for the 2x HP Spheres, since those will also boost the Aeons (namely Bahamut later on) quite a bit.

Interesting development with the levelling of aeon stats from battle participation. How big are these stat increases?

Roughly 2000+ HP and stats ranging from 40-60. Enough to make overdrives hit for 9999 this early in the game.
