I appreciate the talent of gospel musicians today, but the musicians of the 90s and early 00s had that perfect mix between serving the band/music and riffs. For drumming gospel chops have been around for years, but being able to do amazing fills while remaining in the pocket is missing. The best drummers of today are Tony Royster, Eric Moore, Eddie Heyward, Calvin Rodgers, and a few others. If anyone reads this, I'm not knocking flash at all because the drummers I named have chops for days, but can still serve the music and do everything without overplaying. However, they are few now. The noise and overplaying is a bit much these days in churches. The drummer in this video is great. Who is he?
