Sounds like the tires are inflated to the door number (Max load) instead of the fuel lid number (normal conditions)...looks like it's riding really rough over bumps and small imperfections, and there's tons of high pitched tire noise. See if your tires are set to 49 lbft and if so let them out to around 36 lbft instead (note the fuel door allows you to go as low as 32 lbft in normal driving conditions). A lot of tire installers (even at Mercedes dealerships) fill the tires up to the Max load level and it is not a pleasant ride at all.
The difference between the door jamb and fuel filler cap (normal) pressure is indeed odd. I recently bought a used ML and sure enough the tires were at about 45psi. The two tire pressure stickers matched and were more clear in my previous C class. PSI in the low to mid 30s is definitely how these should ride, especially with the 20” wheels mine has.

All that torque really moves that vehicle, the diesel is nice.
The reason it sound like a diesel is because of the direct fuel injection...a lot of new engines with direction injection sound like this at the time of start up. Although it is a little surprising that M/B did not construct more sound insulation under the hood as some other auto manufactures, some of them are not even high end auto companies, i.e., Hyundai, Ford, V/W, & Toyota. I hope this helps in understanding why some of the new engines sound like diesels.

Two things. First, this is most definitely not a diesel. It's the 302 hp V6. Second, note that defying current convention, there are no visible exhaust outlets! the '12 had dual exhaust as does most every thing on the road these days. Is MB trying to start a "new" trend returning to the days when you couldn't see the exhaust tip(s) on a MB?
no it's not. The 350 badge can be clearly seen at 0:24, not to mention the USA (where all of this channel's cars are from) does not get the 250 at all. The 350 is the lowest powered model available

You're probably right about it being cold, maybe because it's a chain driven cam, Lexus has a belt driven cam, they are much quieter, but MB is probably going for durability.
It's RWD. There is no 4Matic badge above the right tail light to indicate at 0:24. 4Matic is Mercedes' AWD unit.

Yeah I thought it sounded like a diesel too. I didn't notice the redline on the tach, but you'd think it would be quieter than it is.
No it is not. No BlueTec badge at the rear. Some other loud car was idling in the parking lot when the reviewer was filming.
There's a 350 petrol and a 350 diesel engine, this one is the petrol engine because the rev counter goes up to 8k rpm.
I'll be, I thought it was, at first it sounded like one, but looking at the video and the back it only shows ML 350 and NO Blue Tech. Thanks.

I can only think that the engine must have been literally ice cold in that beginning sequence and quietens down once it has warmed up. Even then it still makes me wonder because I own a Mercedes C250 CDI Coupe which is just a 4cyl but it is only slightly louder than this when started cold.
Oh didn't know , I taught the 320 ( for old model ) were diesel and then for 2009-2010 they change for 350 blutech has their diesel model ... I didn't know thanks !
There's something wrong with the sound in this video, as it's very misleading. I own a 2013 ML350 Bluetec diesel and you have to stand in front of the car to hear any diesel sound. Inside there is no diesel sound at all. I actually love the sound of the diesel so I strain to hear it when I accelerate. Most of the time I can't hear it.
Even all wheel drive will lose traction with enough torque applied to the wheels. And unless the vehicle has a locking differential and a transfer case is considered an all wheel dirve, and not a 4 wheel drive.
It's definitely not a diesel because it redlines at more than 6000rpm but it certainly sounds like one at the start of the video

from what i can tell the steering is a bit not sharp, and the engine works really hard to make this car going fast..Dont know why it sound like a diesel when its idle. Maybe a lose drive belt? good looking car overall!

I tough the 350 was a blutech 3.0 Turbo diesel engine... this is everything other then a diesel , look like a turbo v6
so i'm trying to convice my mom and dad to get this car cause number 1 it save gas and how my dad like to drive fast it should be this car and also how much we go out of town this is an awesome car
This is not a Diesel. My 2014 Ml350 sounds exactly the same at idle. But, the second you hit the gas it sounds great. 💁
Is this one a diesel or a gas motor? If it's a diesel it sure revs high for a diesel motor and if it's a gasser then the the high pressure injectors are extremely loud. Hell even the Cadillac CTS 3.6 DI isn't as loud.

Sounds like a recording made with the microphones pressed hard against the engine block and the steering column. You do not usually hear the sliding sound of your hands moving around the steering wheel, and way above the road noise at that! If you have used a stethoscope before you will understand what I mean.
HT Lok I have a ml 350. The car is extremely quiet inside. Enough so that you do hear the sound of the steering wheel sliding under your hands.

My 2013 ML350 Bluetec diesel red lines at 4200.
and a diesel cant rev to 8000 rpm...

Hello sir, I found out that the 2013 ml350 has an uplifted led headlights design, but when I went to a dealership and asked for a 2013 ml350 it looked like the 2012 model like the one in this video,so I thought I was being scammed, please how do I differentiate between 2012 and 2013.looking forward to hearing from you,God bless.
Throughout the years of the ML halogen lights were always standard, with the Lighting package being an option with Xenon and active curve and auto high beams.
@@bck0001 thanks boss for the reply, I have another question hopefully you are kind enough to give me another answer, when shopping for a car and looking for a specific model year,one can check the placard on the driver door seal, so what I'm asking for example if one is looking for a specific model year say 2013 but on the placard it writes 08/12 is it a 2012 car or a 2013 car, because I've been on several Mercedes forums and it is said that the 2013/14 model year has less electrical problems, looking forward to your learned response.
I forgot to ask,are after market sport lighting package as reliable as the OEM? The lighting quite sexy.
@@fadilthefxtrader7667 will give you all the info I know. The production date for a given model year can definitely be the preceding year. I previously ordered a w204 Mercedes I picked up at the factory in Germany and the build date was July 2008 but it was a 2009 model year so it had the few changes made for 2009. So, that’s not a worry if the year doesn’t match. Mercedes does make some changes even during a production run of a certain model year but in general it shouldn’t matter what year it was made if the model year is a later one.
On lighting, mine has the lighting package but in studying prior to buying there are good aftermarket options, but also some cheap ones that won’t be good. I don’t remember names or details but I remember there being good information in Mercedes’ forums. And that said, I’m also not against the halogen lights, a friend has them and hasn’t complained about them but from reviews I do think the xenon is better.
