Annie Murphy is AMAZING btw, im not sure if the two of you have watched Schitt’s Creek. It was her first acting gig, she had $3 when she auditioned, she was ready to leave the industry. She is truly kind, humble and giving. Its not about the awards or anything for her, even though she has them, for her it is about the acting. I truly love her.
Gonna add it to our list! She was fantastic in this episode. The acting was superb! It’s always refreshing to hear when people truly do it because they love the art form ❤️
I loved her in Schitt's Creek, Alexis was my favorite character. However, I couldn't get into her HBO show Kevin Can F**k Himself. Have you watched her episode of Murderville?
One of the interesting about watching Black Mirror this time around is that, when the last season came out four or five years ago, all this technology seemed like it was 30 maybe 40 years away. But now, it seems like it’s right around the corner. The world has changed so much in just a few years…
@@OfficialMediaKnights it’s also worth pointing out that just a few days after I made this comment. The writers and actors strike started. Partly because of issues having to do with AI replacing actors and writers, like we see in “Joan is Aweful”.
One realization I had while watching your reaction was about the source Joan. Because it seems each higher level version is more awful for dramatization purposes, my guess is that the original Joan was actually nicer than the Annie-Joan and what we were introduced to was a level bitchier than her in real life.
That's such an interesting take, you have a point there! It does seem to allude to a lot of media utilizing dramatizations for 'entertainment' using real life situations. Murder documentaries, real life catastrophy movies etc.
My only realization when we finally saw source Joan is that this guy in the computer room explaining it to Annie-Joan couldn't have said this to source Joan, as his explanation would have to be different, thus our computer guy had different lines, a different reality.
Yeah, I feel like Source Joan was a weak willed person who blew from bad decision to bad decision and felt awful, so Annie-Joan was not awful but actively making bad the decisions. I'd love to see how much worse the Cate Blanchett Joan was

Please give Schitt's Creek a watch. I had it on my list for probably years and finally decided to give it a try. It's now my favourite comfort show! Annie (and the entire cast) is incredible and the show honestly gets better with each season.
I have to say, about 20 minutes in to this BM episode, something that was said or done made me realize this Joan, our Joan, was not the real Joan. Yet not sure why. But because we could see 3 layers from the start, something made me realize she was also a layer of another layer. Pretty cool!
"i dont understand why she's like sturggling to keep him ". 10.45 - Very simple . krish never leaves her. loving and loyal. Mac is someone whose word cannot be trusted.she is to stay between the fear of taking risks and losing everything or a solid and stable relationship .

I agree with this! I spent half this episode trying to figure out where I’d seen the actress before, and when it hit me I got so excited. “That’s Alexis from Schitt’s Creek!” Who knew that would actually play a part in this show??? 😂 But I agree, I’d love to see you guys watch Schitt’s Creek.

I've watched 5 out of six for the moment and they're all amazing in my perspective and I've read that episode 6 is the best of them all . This TV show is on another level, it's so surreal but at the same time it's not at all!! Kinda scary huh? hahaha. The creative levels they reach by satirizing reality is insane, can't wait for the rest of your reactions!!

I was so happy to see this pop up! I actually really loved this episode, especially the twist at the end that I never even considered. Your reactions were awesome. I’ve now watched episodes 2, 3, and 4 as well and have to say I wasn’t impressed with any of those. The second was too easy to guess the twist, the third was predictable, and the third and fourth left me feeling unsatisfied at the end and wondering what the point was. This is of course just my opinion but I don’t need reactions to those episodes. I’m really hoping the last one is as good as the first!!!
This was done in *_The 13th Floor_* Besides the writers, the SAG-AFTRA strike is partly because of the fear that digital actors will replace real ones in the (very near) future...
I know it's probably going to get far more haunting and terrifying through the series, but I really enjoyed this episode without feeling destroyed afterwards, for once. I wasn't sure what to expect after so long a break, and especially seeing how reality has really caught up in so many ways to being Black Mirroresque in the past years especially, but yeah. This was a very interesting approach and scarily meta, but the light tone and the great comedic chops of Salma Hayek and Annie Murphy really brought it. I loved Annie Murphy so much in Schitt's Creek, it was great to see her here, and Salma Hayek is Salma Hayek. Always iconic. Quamputa is going to stick in my vocabulary. Have definitely not read my T&Cs for Streamberry/Netflix oops. A rewatch of the first couple of seasons especially would be great!!
I loved the first 4 seasons of Black Mirror. There were so many talking points after watching the episodes but the 5th season was just like watching regular tv. It didn't feel like Black Mirror. I've only watched this episode so far but it feels "Black Mirror-y". I hope the rest of the season is the same.

I'm interested in how the confrontation with Micheal Cera would have gone in the real version, given the whole "You're not the original" conversation would have had to be made up for this version of Joan.
Definitely didn’t happen in the real version. Or maybe it did but instead of the security telling Joan about how she is not the original he actually tells her what is going on with the quantumputer and how it’s making more versions of herself. At least that’s my take on it 😅
I'm such a huge Black Mirror fan. All the episodes, including the ones I like the least, make me think and have a lasting impact on me. So you can watch and rewatch any episode, I'd be happy with that (and I want the full reactions on Patreon!) This episode 1 is a great introduction. I love when Black Mirror shows us what could really happen in 5 or 10 years. Joan is awful but Salma and is awesome. It was so funny and at the same time close to our reality and rich in meaning. Episode 2 disappointed me... Episode 3 is for me the gem of season 6. I mean, THE CAST 😍😍😍! I love these 3 actors so much and I have seen them so much in shows that I have watched several times that I feel like they are part of my family. So I'm not objective: these three could play in the worst scenario and make it wonderful... I have a feeling you'll like episode 4. Episode 5 was... OK but... I have a hard time understanding the purpose of the ending. It's still Black Mirror: we recognize the atmosphere, we spend a lot of time being confused and wondering where this will lead us. So I would love to rewatch episode 3 with you guys, but any Black Mirror is always good to take. I also would definitely rewatch any episode from another season that you would like to rewatch 🙂! Even if we don't necessarily have the same tastes: I really liked season 5! I like the slow episodes, in which the feelings of lonely or grieving individuals mingle with incredible technological advances.

It was over. This is not after the events of this episode. It’s just showing us how it looked from “Real” Joans perspective when she did it since we never saw that. But technically it’s in the past.
Nosedive is still my favorite episode, due I’m sure in no part to it both being the first one I watched as well as being on a Herculean dose of mushrooms.
I don't know how your watching Joan is Awful, but every person I've seen react to this episode on TH-cam has MISSED the actual last scene except for everybodylovesrae. The missing scene is a video quality scene that shows SOURCE Joan going into the church and spoiling the wedding. You should see that scene.
my only favorite underrated episode on season 5 of black mirror i think that was the best amazing 10 out of 10 episode to me is striking vipers and even this episode on season 6 of black mirror is my favorite episode too is joan is awful
Haha we got you! So in the episode when Joan goes to the restaurant to meet with Mac, just as there are some establishing shots of the bar, there's a song that's playing that was in a multitude of episodes! The song itself first became a Black Mirror staple in the episode '15million merits'. Ever since a bunch of other episodes had the song too! Also we're pretty sure that in the SteamBerry version, actress that plays the lawyer helping Salma Hayek out was in another Black Mirror episode called Playtest!
The 2nd episode isn’t that good the 3rd one is better the 4th one is really good you guys need to watch it and I’ve heard good things about the last episode but I haven’t seen it

my only favorite underrated episode on season 5 of black mirror i think that was the best amazing 10 out of 10 episode to me is striking vipers and even this episode on season 6 of black mirror is my favorite episode too is joan is awful

So in the episode when Joan goes to the restaurant to meet with Mac, just as there are some establishing shots of the bar, there's a song that's playing that was in a multitude of episodes! The song itself first became a Black Mirror staple in the episode '15million merits'. Ever since a bunch of other episodes had the song too!
Also we're pretty sure that in the SteamBerry version, actress that plays the lawyer helping Salma Hayek out was in another Black Mirror episode called Playtest!
The 2nd episode isn’t that good the 3rd one is better the 4th one is really good you guys need to watch it and I’ve heard good things about the last episode but I haven’t seen it

The first 3 episodes of the season are very good, the last 2 not so much, they don't even feel like black mirror..
Gonna have to watch it just cuz we’re curious! I know one of the episodes has a different label. I believe it’s Red Mirror so I’m assuming they’re trying different things as well.
