How would you compare the quality of the black nubuck to the one on the Jordan 2 low Responsibility? And which black upper do you think is more high maintenance?
That’s a great question, I’d say they’re slightly different types of nubuck and it’s down to the preference. The Responsibility feels like they made it to be more of that velvet texture that feels like very very smooth suede. The nubuck on these seem to go for more leather texture like the grain and feels less ‘artificial’. I haven’t worn them enough to definitively say which one requires more maintenance but if I had to guess, the Responsibility would require more upkeep simply because of that texture. I’m actually enrolling in a shoe construction course that goes into the details and science behind shoe materials so I know exactly how they breakdown and will be able to bring another level of expertise going forward.
