      That's exactly what I did as a youngster. I tried many different things...some worked but many didn't, but the main thing is that at least I tried and learned from my mistakes.

    I just purchased a 20 volt cordless Brad nailer and figured the only way I could make anything that was sturdy is by using wood glue with the brad nails. The cross nailing tip is golden!

      If you are building anything that requires sturdiness you should be gluing it. Even high end trim work gets glued joints and mitres. Nails are to hold light loads or apply a temporary clamping pressure.

    As a professional finish trimmer I have to say that I like my nails about a 16th or less deep to fill with caulk. Flush nailing is great though for thin cut corners

      Probably because he's claiming these are hidden features of a nail gun when they are basic knowledge. That's like me telling you the hidden feature of your car is the windshield wipers have different settings.
      It's just click bait at best.

    Alot of people don't know, but jitool is probably one of the best nail guns out there. They are under 100 dollars but functions and last better than any gun out there. Its all I use for the last 10 years. Ive tried all the best guns in the market, nothing compares to jitool. They are well made, extremely durable, low maintenance.

      @@cwr8618 no I don't, I tried every nail gun out there, and jitool was the only one that was consistent, better than a 500 dollar gun, I know cause I've owned them all.

      if you don't know how to use these tools properly and can't figure them out without TH-cam videos, you probably should not be using them. and most people shouldn't. You can clearly see what all these features do by doing a quick glance at it. and btw the this gun is at least 35 years old with no nose safety.

    That angle technique is called lock nailing or scissor nailing! We use it when you're just shooting into sheetrock or want for holding power in studs

    That cross nailing technique is also good for sucking in gaps in baseboards between studs ... it'll pull the baseboard tight to the drywall. That looks a lot like an old Hitachi nailer. I had a pair of them that I kept for myself and never sent out with other crews. loved the balance and they were short to get into tight places ... also rugged.

    on small projects like that i generally just glue the pieces together and use brad nails to hold it till the glue dries. wood glue is stronger than the actual wood anyway.
    i once used it on a softball bat that was buster in two pieces. just glued it and put tape on to hold it till the glue set.
    i hit many balls with it and never had any issues with the glue letting go.

    With the C version I waiting for him to drive the nails in at angle vertically and horizontally. Would that have made a difference?

      Problem is tear out. The wood is too soft and the section too thin- all the force is coming down on just those nail heads. - could be addressed with use of woodglue. Woodglue and nail guns are a match made in heaven

    OMFG, I feel dumb. Had no idea you could adjust the depth. Guess I should real user manuals before I just assume i know what im doing. lol, i was turning off my air compressor early to fire with low pressure and still getting frustrated. Thank you for the education.

      Modern nail guns will have tool-less adjustments by way of a little wheel near the trigger that you can turn to adjust nail depth

      @@CornerstoneHomeImprovement Yeah thanks, i figured it out. Mine wouldnt adjust to be quite flush using the wheel but it's still better than how it was set by default. It will definitely be something i look into if i'm ever shopping for a new brad nailer. I might shop for an old school model.

    Good advice but i wouldnt slather the tool with quite so much oil when done, it tends to come out the exhaust port and splatter everything. Better just one or two drops.

    The simple adjustment of the ancient gun was nice. However. Nobody is worried about a casings strength inside the framing.

    So that's how you get the brads out after the glue dries. Never put much thought into the "stitching" of the brads for joint strength, will lock that away for future problems.

    Good tip but what about the next example with the cut out and the angled nails…wouldn’t that be super strong
