Love how Christopher Bailey develops his collections and makes their overall themes go over in one another so perfectly! I do like his interpretation of a good bohemian look, but I wonder if the newest collections are loosing the Burberry spirit the brand is known and loved for. Let's think about the collections we've seen year's past. Elegant, timeless looks with a touch of British coolness have always been the main idea of the brand. Now he's pushing the brand for becoming something else and I wonder if its identity could get lost very soon.
It might not seem very British in the traditional sense but I think the brand is remaining true to its values of quality British craftsmanship. The printed quilts are reminiscent of William Morris, the founder of the arts and crafts movement and as always the quintessential trench coat is prominent. Even with a history and culture as diverse and rich as Britain's, there's not an unlimited number of ways you can rehash certain styles before you become en-trenched (how witty of me) and appearing to bang ones own drum. Eventually you have to deviate from the path to be innovative and new, while still remaining true to your past - which is of course the definition of British fashion.
Muckydoggy1 I agree, the British craftmanship remains and does still play a major role in the creation of Burberry's last collections, but what I am missing is the coolness the looks from 2009, 2011 and even 2013 expressed. Take a look at the SS 13 Collection; the metallic fabric, the sunglasses and the simplicity of the looks expressed strength, confidence and lightness. The music (in this case Tom Odell and Birdy) was meant to create a contrast to that collection. It was soft and romantic, showed emotion, while the models seemed so relaxed and mentally strong. The Burberry collections of 2015 simply reflect the softness of the music and the contrast is gone. I truly hope that you can follow me. I am a 16 year old German boy; that explains my miserable English skills.. ^^
boy in the box an interesting in depth look, i myself do prefer the 2013 collection more, and forgive me if my views are a bit naive because i've only come to notice high fashion( in this case Burberry) a month before now and besides the 2012 to now collection, the rest i've never been able to watch. In comparison to the 2013 collection, this year's boho trend does differ in many ways, but not in the least, lost its originality or its basic traits. It does to me, however just reflect a different aspect of the well-known british culture, its rich, colorful and diverse history. But i do have to agree, that i miss the gracesness, sophisticated impression of the 2012-2013 collection. Either way, everyone's taste is different, just really glad to see one's point of view where it actually makes you have to rethink about it.
Also, ich kann auch Deutsch, aber nicht so fließend und zwar, jetzt studiere ich auch in Deutschland :). Einfach möchte ich nur wissen, seit wann bist du an Burberry interesiert? Warum Burberry prorsum? Und außer Burberry, welche Marke sind für dich eigentlich die Besten? Diese sind vielleicht aber zu viel, das ist aber abhängig, ob du sie antworten möchtest oder nicht. Ich bin übrigens 18 :)))

Thank you so much for your lovely message, it truly surprised me! I have been a fan of burberry since 2009. To me it is such a natural brand, so full of life, and I do agree: The collection of 2013 was just stunning! One of my absolute favorites. It was sporty, a little futuristic, but also very romantic... It sounds a little ridiculous, but I always connect Burberry to a healthy lifestyle, it just makes me happy to look at their colorful trenchcoats... My other favorites would probably be Armani, Gucci, Prada, Chanel. No, just kidding! They may have excellent images, but the brands themselves have not introduced the world of fashion to anything revolutionary since 1984. I do like Dior; Raf Simons has a thing for detailed fashion accessories and shoes that catch your attention. Dries Van Noten is pretty good too, same with Vionnet, Blumarine... Iris Van Herpen is a genius, her work is extremely interesting, it almost looks like it came out of the Hunger Games. And how she gets inspired by microbiology just does it for me!

Really inspiring, indeed, comparing to your passion and knowledgement of the whole fashion industry, i feel quite like a freshly new-born :)).
To be honest, i was before never aware of high fashion, or fashion in general. I mean, i do know about Prada, Gucci, Dior, Chanel and others, it's just that I couldn't care less about it. As a matter of fact, i've only come to admire Christopher Bailey and his works recently, approximately 1 month ago, also the same time when i first came here, in German. It was mere by chance that i found out Burberry Prorsum and all. My first ever Burberry experience was the s/s 14 collection, which came when i was looking for one song i accidentally heard on radio, " when we were on fire" by James Bay, more precisely. And then i guess i was just completely overwhelmed, by what seems to be a ravishing mosaic, comprise of not only beautiful, lilting music comes from the less known but extremely talented british artists( i've always been a fan of brtitish indie/rock ^^) but also the refined , alluring aura emit from these simply classic, established with no less elegant or i might say, a bit of sassy, subversive designs.
And my absolutely favourite pieces were from the a/w 13. An irreverently Britishness ( those trench coats *-*)with a touch of contemporary twist ( ex: those Crush bag), it definitely left you to ponder around and to
appreciate the art work. You see, you understand, and you grow to love it, so einfach ^^.
Well, sorry to dissapoint you, but that's unfortunately all my until-now-limited-apprehension of Mode and Fashion. Nevertheless, thank you for sharing your passion with me.
I' ll definitely check those brands you mentioned above. Oh, and i do have 1 more question: Is fashion to you merely a pastime hobby or does it really means something to you, meaning do you want later work in the fashion industry?
As for me, I'm now studying Betriebswirtschaftslehre in Hannover ^^. Where do you live?

Matronly, many a shapeless silouett, some nice prints in the fitted coats. fierce boots, the fringe bootie is unflattering on the leg with the granny dresses, with a short hemline...possible.

Does burbery only use british models ?
Since Burberry introduces its collections to the world of fashion in London, I would assume that most models are actually British. Of course, there are always some models that just have to be seen on the runway, since their petty much considered "most-wanted". Those usually get tickets from wherever they come from to NYC, London, Milan and Paris. For its advertisement campaigns Burberry uses a lot of British "standard models" (lately both, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, of course, Cara Delevingne and beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley).
In their campaigns, yes, to be more precisely, only britons( actresses, actors, models, singers) but on runways, obviously not, that would make them to be considered racism, isn't it. Just take a look at it, there are asians, and americans like Karlie Kloss too

Horrid, horrid music.
Ruined the experience for me, couldn't make it through the first song. One word was in my head the whole time: caterwauling. Will maybe attempt to watch it in the future... muted.
Muted her after first and a half song. Viewing 6 years up the road... the collection looks like uninspired peasantry. One or 2 of the capage garments hold interest.
