"Something to Tide You Over" scared me as a kid the most. My mom as a huge Cheers fan and I loved The Naked Gun, and I went to the beach a lot with my mom growing up. Always kept an eye out for a mean spirited Frank Drebin taunting a drowning Sam Malone. My dream is also to go to a Stephen King book signing and just yell "METEOR SHIT!" when I'm next in line.

"Is it like MAD Magazine?" Mrs. Movies made a deep cut reference as the Creepshow movies and comics are heavily inspired by the 1950s iteration of the Tales from the Crypt comics. About 20 years later the same dude who created Tales from the Crypt resurfaced and founded MAD Magazine. This means Madtv and Tales from the Crypt are siblings. Good one, Mrs. Movies!

One was called "Cat From Hell", but was removed for being too gruesome, but was put into Tales From The Darkside The Movie (what fans call the REAL Creepshow 3). Another story, "Pinfall", was also scrapped from the project, but was given a comic adaptation as a bonus for the Creepshow 2 limited edition Blu-Ray by Arrow Video.

The popular conclusion is that it kills you by crushing suffocation loooong before you make progress getting out. Every time you inhale, the sand fills in the space until you have no room to inhale. Thing about Leslie Nealson was he didn't start in comedy. One of the gimmicks of the movie _Airplane_ was it used known dramatic actors in comedic roles. And that's what got him started in comedy. Before that he was a dramatic actor. He could play twisted villains.

3:16 i remember as a kid we'd get hockey cards and use them in the spokes of our bikes to make clicking sounds,.. there are probably a few Gretzky RC cards dented or torn on the side of the road because of us 😢 anyways, another great reaction to a classic! 👍

Watched this thanks to my parents allowing a very young me to watch it in the mode nineties on VHS. And The Crate scared the crap out of me and still does to this day. Glad you guys watched this classic.

So awesome that you guys watched it. True story: Moved into a house that's been vacant for decades and had it fumigated. Big ass water bugs swarmed all over, freaking me out. Ever since, I've been unable to watch the last segment ever since because I lived it. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

If you pay close attention, you'll see that the green marble ashtray that Bedelia Grantham used to kill her father in Father's Day shows up in every segment of Creepshow. It's on the desk of the professor in Jordy Verril's dream sequence, it's on Richard's night table when he goes to get his revolver, it's on the desk where Harry writes his letter to Wilma, and it's a soap dish in Upson Pratt's bathroom.

Great suggestion! While not an official sequel I think Trick 'r Treat would definitely fit the definition of spiritual sequel with the clear comic book inspired roots and the way each tale has a theme/moral to it.

Leslie Nielsen playing a villain was perfect casting. When a comedian can pull of a complete psychopath, it really is something special to see.

You probably know this now, but the kid is Joel King, son of Steven King, who became a horror writer under the name Joel Hill.
Some of Joel Hill's stories were adapted for the Creepshow television series, along with his father.

Actually, there are three Creepshow movies. My former roommate had all three, I believe in a box set (I might be wrong about the box set; he may have just had them individually). And as for the tv show, I don’t remember a tv show, but a close neighbor would be Tales From The Crypt, which ran for about 4 or 5 seasons on HBO. Just an fyi 😊😊😊
