In general, kpop groups’ songs tend to be more diverse then westerns cause they’ll have slow songs then have some poppy songs and then they’ll come out with hip hop, r&b and edm stuff. This is one of the reasons why I love kpop, you’ll not get bored of them cause each era you’ll experience a new side of them

The original track without the remix is also very hip-hop though, their vocals are just more raw, the beat is like darker and their voices are more raw + the chorus in korean. (That's how the original ver sounds like) It's not really a Steve Aoki thing, BTS were originally a hip-hop group and a lot of their music are more aggressive and hip-hop. They even have cyphers and diss tracks. Trust me their songs are not all poppy and happy. The rappers have their solo mixtapes, sometimes the lyrics are very explicit, harsh and aggressive. A lot of cursing words, genius worldplays and stuff. Mic Drop isn't even in the level of their normal diss tracks for example the cyphers, ddaeng, Joke (solo song by RM), Agust D (solo song by Suga), 1verse(solo song by J-hope) I really love their diversity. They have cute poppy songs like Boy with Luv and Make it right, they have emotional goosebumps songs like The Truth Untold, Magic Shop, Love Myself or Spring day, Let Go, they have the badass hip-hop songs like basically ALMOST ALL OF THEIR OLD SONGS, they have the very mysterious, meaningful, artistic songs like Fake Love or Blood Sweat and Tears, or Boy meets evil, They have the EDM pop type of sounds like some parts in DNA, the hip-hop rockish sounds like Boy IN Luv or Dyonisus, the hype songs like Fire, Dope and Not Today, the sexy vibes R&B like House of Cards, Singularity, Dead Leaves, the emotional rap like First Love, Tear, Reflection, the dark depressing hip-hop like The Last, the jazz sound in the background mixed with slow R&B vocals for example Rain, Stigma... BTS basically for everyone

BTS has always had its roots in hip hop. They were supposed to be a hip hop group originally. Their earlier songs were definitely more in that genre although they've now pretty much covered almost all genres (except country! Lol I can't imagine them doing country tbh). Don't be fooled into thinking K-pop means pop music only... BTS does RnB, trap, neo-soul, EDM, hiphop (obviously) among many others. Please check out the slightly older songs like Save Me, Dope, Butterfly, Fire, Go Go...the list is endless! Their live performances are sooooo good too. There's just so much BTS content out there!

Even though it opens up with Mr. Steve Aoki, he doesnt have copyrights to the song itself b/c it’s owned & written by BTS Leader “RM” (comes out of ambulance) which was inspired by Obama speeches, Mr. Aoki collabed with BTS to make a remix of their song “Mic Drop” and he was featured in their music video. He does get credit for the remix on top of the fact in was in the MV, they’ve also done a lyrical remix version with Desiigner. *This song is one of many DISS tracks they’ve done directed at haters, jealous antis and anyone who’s against they’re well earned success*

They want their music to help motivate, inspire change and help people with a positive message . BTS music is know to cover social issues such as oppression , discrimination, bullying, women empowerment, generation gap between old and young , anxiety, depression, mental health and suicide. And other social issues In Asian media , mental health and suicide isn’t treated well . Problems usually start at a young age which is why BTS is a voice for the youth. However even adults are fans of them as well. BTS uses their fame music and platform to address these topics and create more changes . Anyone who doubt their success , discriminated against them, bullied them, mocked them, sent DEATH THREATS, etc Quick backstory, BTS debuted in 2013 and was always the underdog of kpop. Nobody treated them right or with respect because they came from a poor & finically struggling company. The korean music industry treated them like shit. Cut from broadcasts, wasn’t always featured korean music shows etc. people mindset was if you didn’t came from a rich company, you get look down on and normally get treated differently. When bts started to get more popular , more jealousy and hate was sent to them. Jealous companies and fandoms ( not kpop artists ) find ways to Sabotage their careers from false lies , rumors , false accusations, etc. Ironically, in Korea they were mistreated but international fans treated them with more respect. Now BTS is now at the top of the chain. And surpass not only current kpop groups but even American western groups as well . One thing you should know that bts only has a few actual pop songs... They have songs of different genres and they were originally a hip hop group so all their initial songs were hip hop and tbh mic drop is originally bts' song which was remixed by Steve aoki... KEEP IN MIND THEY PUT THEIR FAMILY NAME FIRST AND FIRSTNAME LAST, for example Kim Nam Joon reverses is Nam-Joon Kim and Korea goes by their own aging system instead the international one, they add a year to their age which makes them unofficially a year older or the same age as most people. Namjoon (RM), Jin and Taehyung (V) arent related at all even though they have the same lastname “Kim”.
Not all of them will be enlistting as far as I know, just Jin and maybe Suga too unless the rest of them decided to enlist early all together. Jin recently turned officially 27 which still makes him my age 28 unofficially (29) and Suga is 26 (27)! They are 4 months a part. J-Hope & RM are 25, Jimin & V are 24 and Jungkook is 23....so the younger line still has ways to go before enlistment
They will eventually have to go into the military yes. But not yet lol. The will be releasing new music soon actually probably right after the new year. We don’t know when exactly they will go to military but they probably won’t go all at once but space out the members time. They will have to serve about 18 months each. But honestly it could be another couple years before the oldest Jin goes. Some K-Pop idols don’t go in until their early 30s. Media is making it seem eminent but it could be a while yet.

Even though it opens up with Mr. Steve Aoki, he doesnt have copyrights to the song itself b/c it’s owned & written by BTS Leader “RM” (comes out of ambulance) which was inspired by Obama speeches, Mr. Aoki collabed with BTS to make a remix of their song “Mic Drop” and he was featured in their music video. He does get credit for the remix on top of the fact in was in the MV, they’ve also done a lyrical remix version with Desiigner. *This song is one of many DISS tracks they’ve done directed at haters, jealous antis and anyone who’s against they’re well earned success*

BTS is huge because they aren’t really your typical boyband like 1D, Backstreet , etc or like other kpop groups . No offense to them , I love them but just stating their different in their own way. They aren’t like other western artists that talk about love , sex , drugs or toxic relationships , etc.
BTS works hard at having their music connect to anyone of all ages and race. BTS stands for their korean name bangtan seonyeondann. Which means Bulletproof Boy Scouts . The meaning behind their name connects with their music . The meaning behind their name is “ to block out stereotypes, criticism, and expectations that aim at adolescents like bullets “.
They want their music to help motivate, inspire change and help people with a positive message . BTS music is know to cover social issues such as oppression , discrimination, bullying, women empowerment, generation gap between old and young , anxiety, depression, mental health and suicide.
And other social issues
In Asian media , mental health and suicide isn’t treated well . Problems usually start at a young age which is why BTS is a voice for the youth. However even adults are fans of them as well. BTS uses their fame music and platform to address these topics and create more changes . I’ve read comments from people saying even tho they can’t understand them, their lyrics and music really inspired them through tough times of bullying , hardships and having suicidal thoughts. So if you ever question and wonder why BTS is currently the biggest boyband and kpop group , this is the reason.
Plus the cool thing about kpop is that Artists are known to incorporate different genres into their music . And BTS is really versatile . They’ve incorporated hip hop , pop , EDM , RnB , trap , rock , etc . So there’s always something for everyone

There is an original Mic Drop which is very Hip hop, BTS do hiphop, pop, as well as other genres, and even started out as a hip hop group. Steve just remixed this song and added more of a electronic and club-y sound. So this was a lot of BTS style, not just Steve's

Mic drop is one of the many diss tracks BTS created at their haters. Anyone who doubt their success , discriminated against them, bullied them, mocked them, sent DEATH THREATS, etc
Quick backstory, BTS debuted in 2013 and was always the underdog of kpop. Nobody treated them right or with respect because they came from a poor & finically struggling company. The korean music industry treated them like shit. Cut from broadcasts, wasn’t always featured korean music shows etc. people mindset was if you didn’t came from a rich company, you get look down on and normally get treated differently. When bts started to get more popular , more jealousy and hate was sent to them. Jealous companies and fandoms ( not kpop artists ) find ways to Sabotage their careers from false lies , rumors , false accusations, etc.
Ironically, in Korea they were mistreated but international fans treated them with more respect. Now BTS is now at the top of the chain. And surpass not only current kpop groups but even American western groups as well . They have become the hugest kpop group , biggest music group and biggest boyband today. Shattering impossible records and breaking down language barriers in mainstream music.

One thing you should know that bts only has a few actual pop songs... They have songs of different genres and they were originally a hip hop group so all their initial songs were hip hop
and tbh mic drop is originally bts' song which was remixed by Steve aoki... The original one also is of the same genre.

KEEP IN MIND THEY PUT THEIR FAMILY NAME FIRST AND FIRSTNAME LAST, for example Kim Nam Joon reverses is Nam-Joon Kim and Korea goes by their own aging system instead the international one, they add a year to their age which makes them unofficially a year older or the same age as most people. Namjoon (RM), Jin and Taehyung (V) arent related at all even though they have the same lastname “Kim”.
Not all of them will be enlistting as far as I know, just Jin and maybe Suga too unless the rest of them decided to enlist early all together. Jin recently turned officially 27 which still makes him my age 28 unofficially (29) and Suga is 26 (27)! They are 4 months a part. J-Hope & RM are 25, Jimin & V are 24 and Jungkook is 23....so the younger line still has ways to go before enlistment

They will eventually have to go into the military yes. But not yet lol. The will be releasing new music soon actually probably right after the new year. We don’t know when exactly they will go to military but they probably won’t go all at once but space out the members time. They will have to serve about 18 months each. But honestly it could be another couple years before the oldest Jin goes. Some K-Pop idols don’t go in until their early 30s. Media is making it seem eminent but it could be a while yet.
