    The light aquamarine is so beautiful. It reminds me of beach glass I used to find as a kid. I would love to visit your shop, but I live in the States. This video is wonderful too. Thank you

    Thank you for these instructions. I am just getting started and only have microwave kilns. Saving up for a real kiln and am excited to construct beautiful pendants as you have. You are very inspiring.

    I would love to have a kiln and work with glass like this. I used to create stained glass sun catchers and larger pieces. I moved to a place where I don't have an area to cut and grind glass. I miss working with glass so much.

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Suzi, we used silver foil because that was what we had but reaction comes from silver as metal but if you have a silver leaf I would suggest to test it to see the reaction.

    Have you ever thought about trying the PMC with your glass jewelry? You could get gold, fine silver, copper, bronze, etc. I myself prefer fine silver, but I also like the Ancient Egyptian gold/silver mix. Anyway, thought you'd be able to do some really cool stuff with the PMC and your Murini and/or stringers 😃
    Happy glazing 💖

    Hi Tabitha, great video, are you using a smaller grommet for the back side of pendant to fit inside a larger grommet in the front? Thanks, bought a few but the same size.

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No they are the same size, they just fit. Hard to explain but as long as you use 6mm glass it works

    With copper how hot and how fast you fuse it will matter due to the chemical reaction. It can be the difference between getting trapped bubbles and a lighter metal color and a black lump. I'm not an expert (at all) on it but if the results aren't what you want carefully track which kiln you use and the firing schedule when you get a result you like if you want to repeat the result.

    I love this video! Just received my first microwave kiln, jut getting into glass fusing (a long way from everything I do on my channel!) I was wondering, do you, or anyone reading this comment) know of any restrictions to microwave kiln use as opposed to a regular larger kiln (except of course with a microwave kiln everything will be much smaller)? Also, can you use aluminum foil or would it just burn up? Any cool household items to use?

    Hi I love your work! What white material are you using to encompass the glass when firing?

  • @marknewman9561

    "only one who truly owns the knowledge can truly give it" your a wonderful teacher. is it possible to fuse glass with the finished face of the piece having two different levels (height from the base)? if so, would it be one firing with a dam of sorts or two with tack fusing? thank you for your Shine!!

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can do it, it would be like kiln carving and would need to be damed

    I really, really appreciate the timestamps you include., Tabitha!
    I have read that if we use silver or copper, exposed (not fully capped) it will render the kiln shelf unusable for anything other than metal-projects. Are you using a separate, dedicated shelf? Or is it not giving any trouble on repeat firings?

    • @jeanined9060
      @jeanined9060 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Susan Clark I’m wondering the same thing.

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Susan Clark it’s the one thing I forgot to say on the video, you should have a dedicated shelf for any silver or copper work as it can leave a residue on the shelf and then if you fire another project on it you might get marks because of the silver. I have one kiln shelf with the corner cut off so I know which one it is.
