Brought back memories of when I used to sit on the wheel fender of a big Case tractor with a 21 foot batting mower hooked to it while my boyfriend would mow the pastures in the evening at a horse breeding farm we worked on
Thanks for the explanation on the weed wiper !! However, I am glad that you mowed the field as it looks really good…and, there is that dried weed that the cows can eat. Tyler you really did a great job with the drone and close up camera shots…wow, driving the tractor, the drone and playing the guitar, man of many talents. Thank you for sharing those talents with us.
I mow my pasture once in June to generate mulch to protect it through the hot months of July and August, and to knock down old-growth grass and weeds the cows don't particularly like.
All in a days work as farmer/rancher, unhook then hook up the next implement. Please show us the regrowth before the cows return for grazing in 2 weeks. 👍👍👍💪💪💪
That feeling you get when the side links, slide on the three point hookups, and you drop the pin in:) I should have done more pasture clipping this year. Still on the list before I spread manure. Thanks for taking us along bud!
Interesting video, Tyler. My dad used to have a small holding here in South Africa. Something like 5 acres in which he had 2 cows, about 15 sheep and sometimes 2 or more pigs (hogs). He had about 1/4 of the land under vegetables. Very proud of that and we as children was his workers. It felt like the land of milk and honey. We always had milk, cream, butter, meat and vegetables. I loved that and always thought that it would stay in the family but he had to move to dryer climate due to health so he sold that place. That was a very heartsore day for us but he taught us to always be proud of what we do.
The most heartsore thing is when we went backup one day to see the place it was run down and the weed was taking over. One thing I forgot to say is my father buil the house up from a broken old house to what was something fantastic. We had many family gatherings there.
i think it was called a rope wick applicator...i still have the diagram on how to make one...i think i got it from the kerr foundation over in oklahoma ...pretty neat little weed killer
Hadn’t heard of a weed wiper, so thanks for the heads up. Like you, we tend to just mow our pasture when the undesirables threaten to take over the field. The one exception is thistle. We try to use a shovel to remove them. Another great video, and a Thursday bonus too!😎✌️
You are soooo blessed to have several months left of grazing..... as a fellow far NorCal ranch owner, there are a lot of other folks not as blessed and I feel for them deeply. I received the dreaded letter from the state water board few days ago about “curtailing” all irrigation or receive 1k dollar a day fines. Luckily for us we use our irrigation water for human consumption as well as our power source since our ranch off grid so we are luckily exempt. We dodged a major bullet. This state is making it harder and harder to keep ranch’s sustainable. God bless you and your family as well as all of our armed forces currently fighting and protecting all of our freedoms.
Thanks, you answered my question. This is the 1st year not cutting Hay of my small acreage, I'm always last on their list which makes for poor hay. Just bought a new tractor w 6ft Brush hog, didn't know if cutting the tall stuff was a waste. ...now I'll cut it. Your logic I've thought, the good stuff is the lower grass. btw, I tipped last years hay guy $200, due to pasture is Ruffin bumpy. ...he declined this year.
Really enjoyed the guitar playing that accompanied the mowing down of the weeds in the pasture. Nice camera angles and drone shots too. Two videos this week! You have been busy editing! You have quite a variety of farm implements! It is very interesting to see how they are hooked up and how they work. One man can accomplish a lot with a tractor and good equipment! Stay well and safe, all the best to you and your family from Canada!
Enjoyed all your hard work that's done to get all the different video positions. See the hay moving is still in process. Hope you'll be able to see it soon.
With all of the camera positioning, editing, etc., how much time do you think this You-Tube channel adds to your work week? Thanks for doing this. This old farm boy enjoys watching.
My great grandfather always cut weeds by the moon. He always cut by the down side of the moon which mint after the full moon. That was nearly 100 yrs ago he would cut his hair the same way. It does work I’ve tried it. I haven’t tried it with my hair though
Is there a robo cutter (?) with a height adjustment that can learn your field to save you from using your tractor and you can go on to other important projects? Seems like there should be a way to automate simply cutting your field.
Every time I hook up my 3pt I wish my Tractor had those extendable arms like yours, and the PTO shield on mine is solid mounted and doesn't tilt... *sigh*
Do I know the joys of brush mowers that that one you got there, this year i have made 800 small square (60lbs) bales and 50 4' round bales. The only mowers that I got are two 6' brush mowers because of my ground type conventional rotatory cutters and even sickle bar hay-bines won't work because of how rough my ground was. Finally after 4 year I think its smooth enough for a hay-bine so my nabor gave me one now im going to spend my winter getting her working for next year
There are a couple of farms near me that have cattle in fields that have Golden Rods as tall as the cattle. Doesn't make any sense to me. If they mowed the fields at least the cattle would have fresh shoots of desirable grass and not have to try and graze thought all those weeds
Good evening to Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too. Happy Thursday everyone!
Same to ya lol 🥰
@@sandib4234 thank you and continue your bless night.

Excellent video today. Your editing was top notch.
Thank you!

Will do!

I say I should have done more pasture clipping every year! Haha!
Thanks Chris yeah it’s an easy job to put off but oh so satisfying when done!
I like mowing on the farm. It’s very satisfying! Another great video, Tyler!

Hi Manie, glad I am not the only South African here on the channel
I've grown up in Lincoln. Awesome to see farmers being represented.
i think it was called a rope wick applicator...i still have the diagram on how to make one...i think i got it from the kerr foundation over in oklahoma ...pretty neat little weed killer
Good morning from Grand Forks
Alright let's get out there and do some mowing

I miss your original intro, well the one you used for a long time.
Bring it back !!

I think the cows will be very pleased to come back onto this part of the pasture now. Good job!
Thanks, you answered my question.

It does look good.i didn't know about the pink eye and weeds though. That was interesting
Pasture looks great. I enjoyed all the camera angles and drone footage. It must make the job twice as long to complete!
Who knew that farming is so much work. Love your videos!
@Millicient Aspinet It sure is, Good work though make ya tough! 🌞
A bonus video!!!!!! YAY!!!! Lol

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it
Hello from Texas, we are in the middle of doing the same thing. Lots of seat time in the tractor. Good video.
Ha yeah makes me want to put an air ride seat on that thing!
Tyler I enjoy your videos, thank you..bout time for that nice tractor to get a good bath, ha.
Enjoyed all your hard work that's done to get all the different video positions.

Looks good now that you cut it Tyler!
WOW THATS A BIG AREA TO MOW < SUPER JOB IN YOUR VIDEOS 👍👍👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Haha a lot!

👍 good job Tyler.
It looks Great!
Look's good n the cow's are going to love it!!
Cows hate to eat thistle but when cut, they LOVE it.
Love this channel
Have you considered installing a quick hitch?
Very interesting video today, thank you
Hello Farmer Tyler!!!
2 4D weed spay is good it won't hurt your cows
Good on grass but will kill the clover
Ok! :)
Are you close to the old McClellan AFB? I was stationed there back in 1980-81.

Dallas grass, can you grow from seed so it would over take the more of the pasture?

I’m jealous I want a haybine!
So do I. Been making hay with a brush mower for 5 years now.
Nice video
Is that your donkey we saw when you were hooking up the mower? Never heard you mention that you have one! Great video.
Swapping implements is a pain, I presently only have one functional tractor and swap all the time.
Did you censor the part with the weeds? Why?
How do you edge the blade?
Farmer Tyler what do you think about while you are out on the tractor 🚜 just riding back and forth?
Haha I don’t know a little bit of everything!
What about if it's not raining
Job well done ⭐⭐👌⭐
Are you the one that plays the music in the background when you're not talkin the guitar for instance regardless of who it is sounds nice
Yes that’s me playing thank you!
That PTO shaft worries me 😅
What do those herbicide applicators cost ?
Could you build one this winter for us . ?
I’m not sure what they go for. That would be a good winter project thanks Todd!
👍👍👍👍
I’m thinking about building a weed wiper. Have a good one buddy
That fueled looked beautiful after you mowed it
They use to be popular for doing milkweed in soybeans
Pretty simple to make A tube some rope and round up
I like the Grassworks. I have thought about building one too but don’t know what to coat the drum with. What do you think Jacky?
donkey is looking good , put a couple goats in with the cows maybe that would help the weed pressure hugssssssss
Always turn your tractor off while connecting a pto know a few people that have had accidents
Try to run some goats in with your cattle. They will no doubt clean your fence line too.
herbicides safe for cows to eat...
That’s the beauty of the weed wiper it’s only going on the plants they won’t eat anyway
There are a couple of farms near me that have cattle in fields that have Golden Rods as tall as the cattle. Doesn't make any sense to me. If they mowed the fields at least the cattle would have fresh shoots of desirable grass and not have to try and graze thought all those weeds
It’s a shame you didn’t get the blueberry to a patch of their own that was out of your way.
You need a quick hitch.
Make sure you keep that oiler box full of oil on that Pump I’m sure you do but I’ve seen I like that Do not LOL
pasture work....never done....LOL
You said it!
