I recommend "Breaking Trail" by Arlene Blum. It's been a few years since I read it, but if I recall correctly, each chapter tells a story of her mountaineering, a story of her career, and a story of her upbringing/personal life. All three stories in each chapter blend nicely together on a different theme. It's a great story for anyone, and probably moreso for women who have a bigger focus on their goals and ambitions and the challenges of meeting them. Have a great week Alice!
Always good stuff! Being an outdoors person you may like tales of the old west from Louis L'Amour. My favorite books are "Jubal Sackett" and "The Lonesome Gods".

What an adventure that must be. You will love Dark Lands, and I'm not sure how old your kids are but the Backpacks and Bra Straps is great for teens.
