I loved your reaction. It was hilarious! One thing I do want to point out though. I started following Fifth Harmony back in their X Factor days and when all that awful, racist bullying was happening to Normani, you mentioned in your reaction that Camila "didn't say anything about that," but she actually did. I think all of the other four girls eventually tweeted out statements asking the bullying to stop to support Normani, but Camila was actually the first one of them to tweet it out (which is definitely appropriate given that her fans were the source of a lot of it). Camila sent four tweets in a row with her statement. The first tweet clearly stated her stance against the racist abuse saying, "I stand by the words "love only," meaning I won't tolerate on my timeline any kind of hate, racism, or discrimination towards ANYONE. Period." In the second tweet she called out the fact that she recognized many of her fans were the source of it stating, "You don't have to hate on somebody else to support me. I don't appreciate it and it's not what I'm about. Be kind or move on." She then sent a third tweet continuing to ask them to be better, "I never go on rants like that but there's so much cruel stuff going on in the world right now - let's be part of the healing, not the problem." And finally she ended with a MLK Jr. quote that underlined her message, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." The tweets are still on her timeline. Anyone can look them up. She didn't ignore the situation. She publicly addressed it before any of the other 3 girls did and clearly admonished the behavior and implored her fans to stop. I've seen rumors spread over the years that she didn't say anything and I'm not really sure how those got started, but I just thought I would drop a small correction here on that.

@@KioshiWarrior Back pre-X Factor when Camila was 13 or 14 years old she had a One Direction fan account on Twitter. And a few years later when she became famous, people of course went and found the account and went through old tweets. And it seems to be absolutely true that she tweeted something like, "That's my n***a!" when talking about how much she loved a couple different people. Those tweets started to get spread around in mid-2013 when she was 16 post-X Factor. In response, she sent a tweet out acknowledging her use use of the language stating in part, "I was immature and young and joking." She then stated though that those things are simply an explanation for her language and "not an excuse." She ended the statement saying, "I apologize." For some people, any use of that language at all at any time is enough to cancel someone and fair enough. Everyone has their different lines that can't be crossed. For me, the fact that she was like 13-14 at the time and didn't seem to be using it any way that she meant as malicious, and then acknowledged her error in that thinking and apologized when later called out on it, was enough for me to forgive it. But it might not be for other people.

I guess I’m just so aware of my platform and the influence I have that I expect people bigger than me to want to address horrific things like racism within their own fan bases.
