Hi dear, my hand wheel and needle move together, but the belt does not move the hand wheel. When the needle is disengaged it moves perfectly, but when engaged, the belt doesn’t spin the wheel. What is the issue here?

My balance wheel and needle is not moving when I peddle but when I used my hand to move the balance wheel the needle will move.I have removed and cleaned the balance wheel as shown in the video but the problem cannot be solved. OK, i need you to give me some information as regards your sewing machine just to know how best to help you. Firstly, is your sewing machine a front loader or a side loader just like the black head i used in this video?
Secondly, are u trying to say that the balance wheel n needle gets stiff, as in stuck while trying to sew unless you use your hand to roll the wheel? or are they are loose? I need u to tell me so as to get to the root cause of the problem. Then i can tell u what to do.

My problem is when I peddle the balance wheel and needle cannot move.Therefore I can't sew. But the needle will move if I use hand to rotate the balance wheel. Please ma,what if the leg paddle is moving but the rope that leads to the the hand wheel is not moving and also the needle is not working

It means th rope is now a bit loose. U need to tighten it a bit or else when paddling, the needle won't move or sew because the rope is not fitted. It must be fitted, not loose or too tight

I tried this method it actually worked but my issue now is the way u said we shud tight it..I did it but the wheel is so hard that I tried loosening the knob to readjust it...but it's stuck...my husband sef try...the knob can't loosen again...now I can't sew

That means u over tightened it. Just put oil on it, leave for 5 mins n try it again. It will be ok
