I'd like to thank you. I was given a Sebo Felix yesterday and had no idea how to go about cleaning the thing up, apart from changing the bag and checking the brush roll. So, on to TH-cam I ventured, and this was the top video for results. So I watched this as I went along, pausing as I went, and you really helped me to understand how to keep the machine going to a high standard. Thank you so much for doing this video, truly; it honestly helped me more than you could know.
My vacuum has slowly become less effective and more smelly (we have a dog). Vacuuming today the rug not only remained dirty, but the vacuum started spitting wads of dirt and hair. In the past my cleaning consisted of cleaning the roller (without removing it) & checking the hose for clogs. Today I watched and followed your video. I found much dirt and hair that I couldn't see or access using my previous cleaning method. When I put it back together & turned it on, I was thrilled. It works great now! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Roger I do enjoy the maintenance videos that you have been doing lately, took my carpet washer apart today and gave it good clean. Cheers for all your efforts
I gotta say that the Felix is my favourite upright from my small collection. Worth every penny and even bought it from the UK. I live in Finland and we don't have Sebos here.
The Felix is amazing! And stylish, no need to hide it in the cupboard, leave it in plain site it's beautiful. One gripe though, is the hose. Sebo really could take a leave from miele uprights here.... Thoughts?
I use disposable furniture polish wipes for cleaning my vacuums - they're better than antiseptic wipes. They don't make the appliances wet (a potential problem which you mention in the video) and, in addition, they are antistatic so stop the vacuum cleaners attracting so much dust onto themselves (it goes into the bags/dust collectors instead!)
My SEBO started smoking today. I suspect it needs a new motor. I didn’t know I had to replace the filters. Seems obvious now. Trouble is I now live in Spain and getting spare parts here isn’t easy!
Sebo also have an A rated exhaust filter if you have severe allergies. It's a bit more expensive but as they last for many years it works out a lot cheaper than a Miele Hepa filter.
Is it available on this model? Can it be upgraded to it? Is it similar to the blue wrap-around exhaust filter ibaisaic installed, or something different?
Great, thank you, have just ordered new exhaust filter and hose. My inspection port cover no longer stays in place, spring has ‘gone’ (it’s there but not effective) - any ideas please?
You can get the part from many online retailers such as this one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254884659460?chn=ps&_ul=GB&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A132Q5nfhqTBWgLCiKBwIJhg42&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=254884659460&targetid=1816459696765&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006886&poi=&campaignid=19097601017&mkgroupid=152525099668&rlsatarget=pla-1816459696765&abcId=9303862&merchantid=9826684&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_Lr1eiNB9Q4mKeOR_OUCcto1VzW&gclid=CjwKCAjw17qvBhBrEiwA1rU9w_9Xc05ix289Bmf2N_tPR5aBD4hQnIUmOgnF1npjgcLxEfLciG7rSxoCEEgQAvD_BwE
Don’t rely on the back check indicator because they aren’t accurate in any of the vacuum cleaners I’ve used. It will fluctuate during use and show red if there is a blockage. The indicator may show red before the bag seems full depending on the type of dirt you pick up. Just check the bag manually every couple of weeks and replace when full.
I get nothing from Sebo, but I will continue to buy and recommend the brand because they make some very good cleaners, although I have noticed a bit of cost cutting on the latest Felix I bought.
It has grown on me since using it as my vacuum of the month, but I prefer the Felix. I don't care if I get anything from Sebo or not as I will still buy them as I like the brand.
I have a 2nd hand Sebo Dart 1 that I've had for 7 years. I didn't know you needed to change parts of it. Do I need to change its hepa filter and things? Thanks
I doubt there are many Dysons still running as well after 12 years. This is why I like Sebo. They may be boring at times but they do what they are supposed to do and last.
Sebo are generally a very reliable brand with a 5 year guarantee as apposed to Miele’s 2 year guarantee, so a Felix may last longer but it depends on how much it’s used and how well it’s cared for.
Hello, I have a SEBO 700 watt and it is just really bad suction. Completely useless for carpets. So i bought the powerhead. But for me also completely useless, or I have no clue how to operate it. The powerhead will just NOT keep rolling. When i run over the carpet with the powerhead it starts and stops after under 1 second usually. It's like it just will not run continuously. I know it has some automatic detection wether the carpet is long/short and if the settings 1-4 are correct. But for me makes absolutely no difference. I set it on 1 2 3 4 and same thing. My carpets are short, like
The SEBO Airbelt D4 700 watt and powerhead ET-1. But when I see other youtubers test this, the powerhead runs continuously. When I push mine forward it goes like "start stop" and if I'm really lucky, I can get it to run like 3 seconds, as soon as i pull back it stops.. Perhaps it is some power issue, loose connection? Seems so unlikely.. used this machine like 15 times in one year... and the powertube/powerhead i used like 3 times.. I did contact SEBO support but they never returned my enquiry. I also sent back the Powerhead ET1 to amazon and got a replacement in case it was broken, but did not change anything.
Sounds like you have a faulty cleaner then. I suggest you keep pestering Sebo until they sort the problem. Check the power head works properly when connected directly to the handle and make sure that the wire connector on the handle is pushed in fully. I have never had a problem like this with any of the Sebo powerhead cleaners I own.
I did test it directly on the vacuum cleaner handle with the same problem. I also (again) wrote sebo via contact form on www.sebo.de/de/kontakt.html so I hope they answer me this time.
Thank you for this! I love my Felix but have only had it for a year, needed to watch this to see what I should be doing for regular maintenance. Luckily, it's a sebo, so it looks like I won't have to do much!
I have a question, I tried removing the flelix brush roll and it wouldn't come out at all. It looks like it should just pop out but it won't budge. Any suggestions?
After removing the end cap you will need to twist the end of the brushroll to release it. If you’ve never removed it, you may find it will need a bit of jiggling to remove it.

Very useful video for Sebo Felix newbies like us! Thank you.

Thanks. That will be the last maintenance video for a while, but I do plan to make many more.
I have just bought myself this hoover and really pleased thank you for this hoover care
I gotta say that the Felix is my favourite upright from my small collection. Worth every penny and even bought it from the UK. I live in Finland and we don't have Sebos here.
It's my favourite modern bagged upright.
The Felix is amazing! And stylish, no need to hide it in the cupboard, leave it in plain site it's beautiful. One gripe though, is the hose. Sebo really could take a leave from miele uprights here.... Thoughts?
How often do you recommend changing the filters? Love all your videos, so helpful and easy to understand, thank you

@@Cleaning_Hero Yes it will fit any Sebo Felix. It is the F9 exhaust filter ultra high filtration. Here is a link. You may be able to find it cheaper.
Just bought one. Love it so far. Was a toss up between this and the Dyson Cinetic(sp?) think I’ve made the right choice.
I've just bought a new Felix Vogue and yes, it is a better choice than the Dyson Cinetic.
Richard Whitehead I have had mine for many years now and not one problem. Love it and worth the money hands down.
craigsclocks Great stuff, glad to hear!
One thing about sebo they last for yrs whereas dyson dont.i seem to only see broken dysons for outside for the refuse collectors

Can you wash the exhaust filters for the sebo felix?
No

Where’s your update video for the Dyson Cinetic? You said you’d make one.
In my head.
I hope SEBO gave you a little bit of a kick back for this Rodger . This is so much better than anything they have on their Vacuums.
I get nothing from Sebo, but I will continue to buy and recommend the brand because they make some very good cleaners, although I have noticed a bit of cost cutting on the latest Felix I bought.
ibaisaic I have my doubts they'll ever give you anything after you gave your opinion on the new Automatic X.

@@ibaisaic I have upgraded my Miele guarantee in 5 Years with the bags that you buy. Thank you Roger for answering me.
Beautiful vac. You've said that your mom has been using lighter bagless machines. Do you think this may attract her back to using her Sebo?
She still uses the Sebo, but probably only once a week now. She was impressed with how I cleaned it up for her.
Cool!
Is the sebo F9 exhaust filter just another layer of the regular exhaust filter?
i love the service and video
just a vacum fan why do you comment first on loads of Rogers videos.
This person, it's a lot on lots of vacuum videos though I suspect it might be a bot.
The bot can't spell vacuum.
She lives next door and gets his signal first.

After a year it may benefit from a new exhaust filter, but that's about it as the brushroll will have loads of life left in it.
