Very good demo! I think anyone contemplating this upgrade will find it useful. I did mine about 8 years ago and I believe it is the best upgrade I could have made. Of course the second best upgrade is installing tapered roller bearings in the head stock. I enjoyed the video and hope to see more upgrades. Maybe you can come up with a way to make he compound slide a bit more rigid. KOKO!
Informative video, seems like motor mounting has been upgraded. Watching you line up the pieces you had to mark drill and tap,I had to wonder how many blunders you prevented because guys unfamiliar with methods of measuring, marking, and clamping can now see it up close and in color. Thanks for these videos! 😊
I managed to complete the first mold in the course, it's a plastic domino piece! The second mold is a drawer that results in a plastic mug. Can you make a video explaining the best way to make the holes at angles? Or how to mill a wedge by rotating the head or just rotating the piece in the vice? It would be a great help! Best regards
I'm happy to hear that you made it through your first project. Drilling holes on angles, I don't know if I can tell you the best way. But, I start by putting a spot face or flat spot on the angled surface with an end mill. Then a small center drill mark. The spot face needs to be at least the size of the hole you're going to drill. I'll try to put together a video milling and Drilling on angled surfaces. Good luck with your next project.
They say length is important (but we all know the truth) Seriously, you should do the instructional videos for LMS. Your explanations are always straightforward and practical. I only wish I had the bench space for this mod myself.
No, On their website they call it PT# 5000 , Bed Extension Kit 16" . It cost $199.95. Always check the Description and the Compatibility listed under the product. Or call them before ordering.
The Company Littlemachineshop.com that sells this, calls it the 16" Bed Extension. There is nothing misleading about the title or anything else in this video. I am sorry you didn't understand the terminology, but that is what it is called.🙄
Another Nice one. Thanks for the video, Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you Deez, Putting this video together was lots of fun. Hope your Thanksgiving was great also. Thank you again.

Thank you James, I'll give the compound slide some thought. Should be something that can be done. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks Doc, It was fun putting this video together. Glad you enjoyed it. 😁
Is this the kit that LMS claims only fits their Hi-Torque lathes? I have one of the HF 10" lathes.

Title is misleading. You didnt “extend” anything. You replaced the shorter bed with a longer one
