Growing up, I never understood what Fathers Day was or what having a father figure was because mine wasn't present in my life even when he was around. Ever since my parents divorced, you start to see the real colors of how extended families members treat you and your siblings without a father figure or a functional family. But this song got me thinking about how he is doing wherever he is living right now. People fk up and make mistakes for the love they never got. But I wanna show him love before it's too late. Damn just came across this song. This is deep. It hits home. Only real ones would feel it. Makes me miss my pa, man... I should believe everything he said growing up, but I was too stubborn and lost. I couldn't benefit from the shit he told me. I was a troubled kid. Ran with my set all over thr Valley of Cali like I owned it, throughout the 90s. Got locked up and got no visitation or money on my book from anyone but my parents. As time went by, it would just be my mom. Did 4 years in the pen for attempted murder. But I had to go in to realize everything that was told to me from the streets was all a lie. I changed my life for thr better and to make my family proud, and that was the best decision I've ever made. To anyone who's still trying to get out, if you're a real one, you can get out at any motherfikcen time. Aint no one gonna touch you. And even if you're a lil bitch, fuck it. Just quit. There's nothing out there for you but death and prison.

As a teen right now growing up, I realize my father is in the same position my grandfather was in when my dad was a teen, gone so many days without being found, stressing days and nights to hope for the best. As i reached my teen years, im always out drinking and hanging out, too busy having fun and not realizing the stress my father goes through hoping im not in a jail cell. My dad is only yelling at me the way my grandparents did and he never listened, he wants me to be better and to do better. This song explains so much of a fathers love.
