Amid all the well-deserved praise for Alison's flawless vocal, I cannot pass up this opportunity to remind everyone that Jerry Douglas is the finest dobro player to ever walk the earth.
Alison Krause is the only person I’d trust with this gem by James Taylor. She did not disappoint. One of the greatest voices of country music, and, as you said, such a talented fiddler. Saw her with Union Station about 15 years ago, give or take, and what a concert! Thanks for the song and reaction. You can follow Alison and never grow tired of listening to her.
I 100% agree, it takes moxy to cover a legend like James Taylor, let alone one of his signature songs. Alison was more than up for the challenge, she absolutely smashed it.
Couldn’t agree with you more. Alison has about as pure a voice as I’ve ever heard. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her hit a bad note ever. She definitely is a fantastic talent.👍👍🇨🇦
Yes Pj, her tone is just crazy good !! The way she has always used those breathy vibratos', the moves thru her vocal register, it truly is a gift, singers don't learn that skill, they are gifted that skill to share with the world. I am with you my friend, I'm glad this angel got out of the gate !!
They were paying tribute to James Taylor who was in the audience. This is such a beautiful composition and Jerry Douglas Playing his Dobro is superb. I have listened to her since she was young. She’s like fine wine, she gets better with age. She also pays tribute to Paul Simon at his event with a rendition of ✅The Boxer ✅With Shawn Colvin. Should check it out you won’t be disappointed. Of course she is known for her slow songs. She has a voice of an angel
You are the only person who understands how to do this. You listen to the whole song without interrupting. You also do your research. And if you like Allison you have good taste in music.
I’m a huge fan of Alison and also of James Taylor, so of course this song is in my top 10 all time, any genre. Thanks so much for bringing it to us and sharing your thoughts.
According to Fil over at Wings of Pegasua yt channel, Alison is just the gold standard of pitch-perfect vocals. No auto tune needed anywhere NEAR this angelic voice.
I’d love to be lullabied to sleep by her beautiful voice. Boy howdy, can you just imagine how heavenly that would be? I sure can. Another great choice 👍 🙏
I've been a Huge Allison Fan since her 1st radio hit. Beautiful, Class, Traditionalist with a Twist, Great Musician and did I tell She Can Sing?? A very deep catalog of great music and she has a long way yet to go. Her Duets with other Artists is a Whose Who of Country and Bluegrass Music. Seeing her is in my bucket list.
The movie O Brother Where Art Thou is a treasure trove of great folk songs. Alison sings “ Down In the River To Pray” in it. Another great song from it is Man Of Constant Sorrow which is performed by her Union Station band. The best version of this song is by acapella group, Home Free.
@@DjPjrocReacts911 wonderful! I witnessed the conversion to Frydom before my very eyes! Their collab with Kenny Rogers on the spiritual Children Go Where I Send Thee is beyond joyous! I can’t WAIT to see you react to it.
Thank you! There are soo many to hear. All great. Duets.her band members are all super talented as well. Way too much to talk about here. Just a lot of beauty! F-DW-5/19/22.
So much talent wrapped up in one little lady. You have sure brought me a lot of joy taking me back down memory lane to music that I had mostly forgotten. So glad to walk down these paths again.🥰 A heart felt Thank You.
She has such a hauntingly beautiful voice no matter what song she’s singing! One of her best songs is Jacobs dream which tells the story about 2 little boys who go missing. Very sad and soulful song. great reaction
I think I own everything she's ever done, and have had the great pleasure of seeing her and Union Station three times in concert. They are incredible musicians!!
Funny you should say that Albert. This happens to be a galla event honoring James. As Alison and Jerry are announced and come onstage James is on his feet applauding. Approve he does.
She has such an unique and amazing voice. Alison Krauss and Union Station are among my top 3 Blue Grass bands, along with New Grass Revival and The Dillards.
Is this country music? I'm a jaded New Yorker that hates country music. This video makes me take a step back. This is a beautiful song elegantly sung by performed by a great singer and band. Maybe I like county music?
Her song "Paper Airplane" is probably my favorite song she sings. I was luck enough to see her in concert in 2018, she closed the show with an the song "It Is Well with my Soul" a cappella. It was just a beautiful song.
DANG.... I would love to sit down with you and have a drink or 12 and let you show me what I have never heard and maybe show you some things you have never heard. I love country music, but there is a lot of southern rock I think you would really like. Marshall Tucker band being one of my all time favorites. Country Music takes me back to my grandparents farm. Up very early, eating breakfast as George Jones and many others played on the radio. Keep it up and maybe check out Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, Lynard Skinner and many others
This led to one of my best TH-cam rabbit holes. Watched this when it came out. Never heard a guitar like that. Discovered dobro guitar and jerry douglas. Discovered Jerry Douglas on many episodes of "Transatlantic sessions". Discovered songs by Tim obrien (brother wind), nancy griffith, paul Brady and so many more. Great music
Allison does a beautiful duet with James Taylor. How's The World Treating You. It is considered Bluegrass/Country. I have never heard her sing this song. Such a beautiful voice, thank you P. J. !
If there is a purer female voice on the planet, I’ve never heard it. I’ve been to 6 of her concerts. Angelic to say the least. She could sing me the phone book.
The thing is God allows us to keep Alison on this earth so that we might have a taste of what heaven is like. This is the sound of the angels singing. The guy sharing the stage with her is Jerry Douglas. He is recognized as the best dobro player in the business. I believe this is from a TV special recognizing the genius of songwriter James Taylor. JT has written some of the best songs ever. In the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou, a member of Alisons band dubbed the singing voice of George Clooneys character and Alison, Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch provided the voices of the three "sirens" at the river.
Thank you for the reaction. I love Alison’s voice, it’s so peaceful. If you haven’t done so yet I highly recommend her cover of When You Say Nothing at All. Keith Whitley’s original version is also excellent. Let’s not forget Jerry Douglas on the dobro, he’s a monster musician.
Thank you so much for just taking the time to relax and listen to music that even if you wanted to hate it there's just about no way you could! So much violence and hate these days,... just wish more people would do this...Keep up the good work ❣❣
Allison could sing the phone book and I would listen. We are getting to see her this year on her tour of duets with Robert Plant of Stairway to Heaven fame.
Thank you. Alison has the voice of an angel. I think you’d really enjoy “Wildfire” by Michael Martin Murphey & the Rio Grande Band. The video with 7.2 million views is the best one. Michael has such a great voice.

Probably the most distinct and angelic voice I’ve ever heard!
You say "angel escaped from heaven." I think you called it correctly!!!!
In my opinion, this Alison Krause rendition of James Taylor’s song is one of the very best things on the Internet.

The voice of an angel in human form! This is by far the most pure voice that God has ever created in a human!

James Taylor wrote it and had a monster hit with it but I think he would wholeheartedly approve of Alison's version!!!

It's always amazed me how effortless it seems for her to sing. Truly gifted with that voice and talent.
“Jacob’s Dream” is my favorite Alison Krauss song. It will make you weep. Look for it here on TH-cam.
Beautiful !! You should listen to some of her collaborations with Robert Plant. Magical.
North Carolina was a regular stop in my hitchhiking years. This always takes me back

Listen to her best "River In The Rain" written by past treasure Roger Miller for his Tony Award winning Broadway musical. (won 7 Tonys.)
Check out James Taylor , anything that he performs I especially love his cover of Steam Roller Blues , he has collaborated with Allison.

I’d like to recommend a classic country song: John Conlee , the studio version of ‘I Don’t Remember Loving You’
More Allison please! But also some James Taylor, he's amazing!
Wonderful. Love you and your channel🇮🇪❤️
Thank you so much!
