Philadelphia Jazz Project hosted a Sax Tribute & Marathon at the legendary Church of the Advocate as part of their free series of events celebrating "Coltrane at 90". This was part of Mr. Carter's contribution. The event was outstanding and James was AWESOME!

What has become of the other "Young Lions" - from among whom is the Supreme Lion, Mr. James Carter?
He executes the same romantic belligerence on all the saxes and clarinets.
James can be just as prettily pugnacious on the concert and alto flutes.

Check out "Laura" or his classical performances with the classical orchestras.
"Me and Mrs. Jones" is a smooth and sometimes- "rough" rendition by James.
Great romantic pop ballad!
There are quite a few instances in which James deposits it "easy" on the ears - thus suppressing his creative genius (as a humble compromise)
