it's a horrible industry that no one should be forced into, at any age!
Never even thought about those reports from the other side, I hope she's okay now!!🙌🏻

Hi Emily , I’m currently coming to the end of my public services course at college. Wanted to be a police officer but I’m not sure if I’m ready for that yet so was thinking of call handling. How do you apply for the role? , would really appreciate some help. Thank you! X

Hello Elly, I personally think being a call handler first gives you so much experience and knowledge which would really help give you the confidence and grounding to be an excellent police officer. You learn so much about the crimes and how to deal with difficult people. Most of all you are exposed to every eventuality and I think it is a great way to start your career in the police. Depending on what force you apply for, make sure you are up to speed on your typing skills, sometimes people trip up early on with things like that. When being tested on scenarios and how you would deal with them, I suggest to always be logical with your answers and always think of the safety of the victim and people around first. Put yourself in the victims shoes, and never be afraid to ask lots of questions in a learning environment :)
