Silicone grease. Not Silicon grease (there's no such thing). Yes, they are 2 different materials. Everyone thinks they are the same. Silicon is used to make computer chips. Silicone was used to make Pamela Anderson.
I have been considering buying one. I did not think GPS would work well underwater. I wish it did. It may just be giving a coordinate from it's last location on the surface. Not sure.
Yes, the GPS only works when the camera is above water. After it goes under, you have about 8 seconds to take a geotagged image. After that, no GPS data is added to the images
@@Murtagh653 if you have no need of the geotagging capability, then yes, you can turn it off. We are using the camera to collect geotagged reef survey imagery so we need it on.
We don't use one - the camera has shallow and deep underwater settings which do a pretty good job of shifting the white balance back toward the red end.

@@coralseafoundation841 would it not be a good idea to turn it off? i assume it would prolong battery life.

Which housing is more better for TG-6 PT-059 or seafrog?
We only use PT-059
@@coralseafoundation841 thank you 😊
Can one install the macro lens on the housing and if so how is that done?
Yes, see asia.olympus-imaging.com/product/compact/tg6/accessory.html
It's necessary the sachet? It's a waterproof camera. Greetings
yes, otherwise the housing fogs up after about 25 min
Which red filter do you recommend?

@@coralseafoundation841 thank you so much! May I also ask which lights are suitable for underwater photography? Can they bet attached to the housing?
@@KevinStewart-uv1gd best to ask a dedicated underwater photography shop that question, we mainly shoot with natural light.
@@coralseafoundation841 Thank you so much for your help!!!
