    Genuine question because im genuinely interested. I wasnt around yet. Why are so many videos from the 60s silent?. It appears that they had the ability to synchronise sound in the 20s and could record sound with video from the 50s. Were they still to expensive in the 60s for them to be widely taken up or something?. Its such a shame sometimes.

    Love this film my dad was a station master in Sarina from 67 on. Brings back great memories of him, QR and Sarina, thank you 😎

    Absolutely fantastic to see old Mackay Town. I grew up in Coppabella and we come to town for our grocery shopping. Always a trip down to the harbour to see the Ships and regularly saw trains down the branch. Dad was an acting Train Operations Inspector there in the early 90's.

      Love the aroma in the air during the sugar season when the steam locos were trooped out to transport the sugar

      @@reidgck I drive steam for QR in Brisbane and Yes the smell of Blair Athol coal never loses it's appeal. Im working on BB18 1/4 1079 today infact, on Steam Train Sunday round the inner city Big Circle. I miss the North though...
