It takes months to prepare the silk threads, with use of pesticides and pollution, it is becoming difficult to rear Muga cocoons in Assam. The silk is 100% UV safe and it lasts forever. It is one of the most expensive silks in the world. The price of this saree costing 68K is very fair. Poli paat and other mixed silks are actually "polyester and other fibre". All Assam Silk (Paat, Muga and Eri Silk) are woven by hand, it takes months to weave one saree. In Assam, it is considered honor to own a Muga piece, which were only available to royalty in the olden days. Mughal Emperor traded Muga Silk with other goods in Assam. Thank you for bringing this silk out to rest of India, as during British raj this industry was nearly crushed and killed with British dominance of industrial fibers.

Sadly the industrial fibres r still dominating the market😔 people are shifting towards glazy and artificial materials that r cheap.
