Mercari should have some kind of pop up warning that says "HEY THE WORD KNIFE IS IN THIS LISTING PLEASE BE AWARE THAT KNIVES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON MERCARI"

The worst thing is you paying someone to cross list on Mercari, when Mercari will cross list your stuff for you for free.
I just attempted to get my suspension lifted from Etsy again and they responded to my ticket stating they would not respond to me any longer 😞 What a great company.
Anytime I ship something in a bubble envelope, it has a greater chance of getting lost. I only ship in boxes now. Harder for the post office to lose.

I avoid smalls being lost in the mail by using a 6x4x4 box instead of a poly/bubble mailer. They're the same price.

I've always heard Florida has really high car insurance. My wife and I pay $118 a month for two vehicles, hers is a newer CX-5 and I have an old F-150.

Insurance is ridiculous here in Florida. I pay almost $5000 per year for 3 vehicles, me, my wife and my 19 yr old son, no accidents, no tickets. Don't even start about homeowners insurance. There is a crazy insurance crisis in this state.
The smell could be from your mini split air conditioner. I had the same thing happened. Make sure you run the fan for 10 minutes after you ran it all day because the moisture will cause bacteria to grow overnight
We pay about $4700 a year 3 cars with full coverage. In Michigan where our rates are ranked highest in the country. We do pay monthly so it may be cheaper if I paid it annually. We do have a child driver on our policy too.

Car insurance rates in California, Florida, and many other states is skyrocketing due to natural disasters. Has nothing to do with getting into accidents.

Why do I see a whole lengthy page of knives on Mercari?
In private business for many years. June was always a slow month for our business; folks just paid Income Taxes AND many are attempting to take a vacation as soon as kids are out of school. You are a great reseller & things will pick up.
Not sure why they’re so against knives. Anything can be used as a weapon. Just like anything can be a puppet if you push hard enough.

It is ridiculous that Mercari bans perfectly legal kitchen knives. Sure, their playground their rules and all of that crap... but why?? Like banning Dr. Seuss books, they can do it, but it is still really stupid.
For that Disney 2020 matted thing even though that person has sold 6 of them, the last one he sold was June 2023 (1 year ago) .. I would drop your price and get rid of that thing.

I just went on Mercari and did a search for knife. So many listings for knives. So what’s different about your knives versus the ones that are listed? There’s an argument right there.
If you only de-activated the listings and didnt delete them, then yes they scan for that. Deactivated items can still be seen on Mercari through a direct link. You cant have those items on the platform at all because its a liability for them.

Mercari for sure sells knives,there are tons listed and a few sold. I had this issue but not with knives. Someone most likely flagged your listing. Mercari told me it's impossible to monitor all listings and as a seller if I ever see anything that violates Mercari I can report the listing too, that's why I believe someone flagged those listings. I find it funny they claim no knives but yet assisted in completing transactions of the knives that did sell and electronically assisted in generating all those that are listed as we speak.
Hi Dave, You shouldn't let eBay decide the case for you that will end up as a defect on your account. Even if the item was scanned in and it still does not say delivered on the tracking you have no choice but to refund the buyer. When I get those I'll wait the full three 3 days for the item to show up then I'll just refund them. For my small items I switched to a 6 in by 10-in white bubble mailer so they wouldn't get lost. The cost of the shipping supplies was minimal so I decided to do it.

I truly sorry that happened to you. I got blocked by them once as a Buyer and never knew the reason. Trying to obtain information as to why was like pulling teeth. Then I got a random email advising me my account was good to go. Have not been back on site since.

I think you should just tell macari good bye I got a cross lister and have listed more then ever on there and haven’t had a single sale since they change the fees I’m giving them until my free trail runs out on the cross lister if I don’t get some sales I’m saying bye bye macari I use to make a few hundred a month on there.
Always heard about Florida insurance. We honestly want to move there, for many reasons including the weather. Anyways we know that would be a huge difference because we pay $815/6 months for a 2020 SUV and car. That is almost $400 more a month and just crazy.
Also that Mercari issue is ridiculous. Maybe if they don't reopen it, you can appeal it to some higher up and actually speak to a person.

Dave… ship those small items in no smaller than a 6x6x6 box or a larger padded envelope. We had a slot car that got lost as my husband sent it in a tiny box. It was found in the Postal carriers trunk months later. Just this old woman’s thoughts!

From what I seen on the Mercari subreddit that it's an utter shitshow for sellers most posts I see are them always complaining about shipping charges being charged 4x more than the shipping should be, rampant scams and fraud, taking down random items for no reason, and much much more.

Some of the insurance woes are just living in FL, it will keep getting worse.
Regarding the van key, I would check with Ace Hardware, Advanced Auto, etc. they can normally make you a key and program it for way less. We have done this with newer vehicles with no issues at all.
I don’t care if I have 100 packages…I’m waiting for them to be scanned. The post office loses too much

My key fob broke and i was left with just a partial key. Everyone said it has some special chip and i would have to go to the dealership and pay a few hundred. That was a lie because i got a new key fob from Battery and Bulbs for 30 or 50 bucks in just 5 mins.
I had a pin by Nolan Miller taken down by Etsy, why?. Jewelry, I sold Nolan Miller a lot without a problem. There were also the identical pin on Etsy..they should tell you why it happened and allow you to correct it.l very frustrating. You’re ok Dave, not a BAD seller.❤

Let this be an opportunity for a reset with Mercari, and zero in on taking full responsibility for EVERY LISTING you make. Maybe you need to hire a very meticulous virtual assistant that does the double checking and reviews all your listings. In the end, we are the only ones we can blame for things that happen in our businesses.
I have one 10 year old car, paid off, ins. is $382.00 for 6 months. Basic coverage. I pay monthly.
We pay 10,000 a year for 6 used cars, a fishing boat and our house in MN. 6600 a year for two cars and an unused camper is insane.

My wife managed to flush my van key down the toilet last year and it was a traditional key with minor chip, no buttons or functions. It still cost us $200 to have someone come out and make a new key from the VIN number. The guy was here about an hour. The valet key has been the only key that has been able to still start my old Mercedes for many years now, the main key is just too worn down.
I think once the dust settles Mercury's system will sort it out. If not then be firm for a human. I'd be irate if it was me...total respect for your cool attitude! 😎

Costco makes keys way cheaper then the dealer.
It takes 20min on those key fobs. Dealerships scam people. There's TH-cam videos about this so it has to be true. On a positive note, nice haircut.

8:25 That’s in sane! I pay 328.00 a month three cars and one RV full coverage with one accident from my son last 18 months ago. I was paying least than 300.00 but that accident brought it up.
I say we ALL DEACTIVATE our Mercari until Dave is allowed back.
I've also experienced a slowdown on Ebay and elsewhere right now, very slow and uninspiring activity. TBH, I see your videos and those of others you collaborate with and really don't pick up on there being a decline in sales. But for me it's really been slow. I think it's partly due to the tax season, and partly due to the economy. The economy isn't terrible, but we just went through an inflationary period and people may be focusing more on necessities. But that also makes me think, are the vast majority of people on these platforms just living paycheck to paycheck?
I recently had my first need for Mercari support as a seller and found them to be completely inept, and really disappointing. They said they were going to fix my problem and send me a shipping label within 24-48 hours. I kept my buyer informed. Then they just never followed through and stopped responding about the issue. I had to cancel the order eventually.
I found one of those huge Dyson fans for cheap. Checked the cost of shipping. Decided I better keep it instead haha

I would be proactive and at least send an email prior to Marcari making a final decision. It might save you a lot of headaches and help them realize their mistake prior to blowing out your account.
For your wait at the key place, get some drafts done and do your listings while waiting.
Your appt was with the service advisor it does not mean your vehicle will start getting worked on right at that time.

If you have an Ace Hardware, you can sometimes get programmable keys there…for a lot cheaper
PLEASE READ! At Ace hardware and some other places you can get a key fob for a fraction of the cost! Like around 50% last time i worked there. Sometimes the key still has to be ordered sure but chances are pretty good it will be in stock for common cars.

Dave you guys need to shop car insurance rates. Maybe your house ins too. I know that's hard in FL right now. That is a LOT for auto insurance. And the rates will continue to increase as the kids start driving.
3 cars, 2 drivers $400 a year, it was the same when we had 5 cars 2 years ago. Of course I have had Progressive for like 20 years and have never made a claim, and we don't have full coverage because we buy cars for cash instead of financing them.

Look at the listing & see when the knife was listed. Take a picture of the day showing you didnt list it recently & they didnt take if off from last time. Also i live in Kansas & pay $120 a month for 2 cars about to add my daughter to it & it only will be $300 a month with her added. Those prices are CRAZY!
Our car insurance was about $2400 yearly in SC until we added our first teenager, then it went to about $650 a month. I thought that was insane until I heard your rate...that's insane! I hope the stupid bot that banned you again figures it out. Who has time for this ridiculousness?! Good luck!
If you have something listed, and can not find the item, END THE ITEM BEFORE SOMEONE BUYS. Find the item, then relist.

Florida insurance rates are higher than many other states. Plus if your teens are on your insurance that’s sends it even higher. I had clients move from Maine to Florida and their car insurance more than doubled. They were told it’s because of all the senior drivers, causing more accidents. 😂. Be careful down there
