Thanks! I play in a Pink Floyd tribute band and we often play the whole Live at Pompei. Unfortunally I can't carry the Hammond in our show, and so I often use the Nord Electro...but the Farfisa compact duo is not so heavy and so I always have it on the stage...and I love it!!!
i spent 13 years on tour and we lugged around a hammond b3 and a giant leslie case for the keyboardist… absolute nightmare, and i was the lighting guy. great version of the tune !!
I remember when I was a child and my big brother played it for me. I felt so strong the beauty of it, felt like the warmth from a big, orange star shone on me. I became so moved so I laid myself behind my daddys back, he took a rest. Daddy was a calm and friendly and I felt how much i loved him. I just cried and criep and wept when I heard and thought of this WONDERFUL music.
One thing worthy noting - you remained true to Rick's "reverse" playing. He usually played chords with right hand and melody with left. I appreciate that.
I agree. Being right handed, this is the way I would play this song. The chords with my right hand, and the simple melody part, which resembles a monophonic bass line, with my left hand.
Pha! Anyone could play like this............... All you need is a huge amount of natural talent, years of practice and a huge sympathy for such etherial music. Haunting innit?
The Moog sounds were done by Gilmour with a tone bar on his Strat without picking the strings to give a violin-ish sound (as can be seen on the Pompeii film).
when i printed the chords out, i realized it was just a standard repetitive riff structure... but the way they played it, it's like one continuous rff that doesn't repeat...a soft flowing story without words... that i find incredible...
Dude you deserve ALOT more views!!! I have a Hammond Rt3 and a Leslie 122.... The Hammond RT3 is the organ that was used to record dark side of the moon and is the same thing as a B3 but in a different wood case because it was made for churches BUT everything electronically is the same.... I really admire people like you who do this... I need a Moog little phatty like you!!! That's next on my list along with a farfisa organ and a fender Rhodes!!
fantastic performance!! rick wright used a hammond L100 with leslie 122 (or 145) in the early days!! the version on 'stamping ground' is the definitive version for me..... with yours being a close second!! great job!!
Very nice job here, well done. I took a stab at this thru midi sims, got really close, the DAW I used had a weird built in sound called a "modern electric violin" I added some Efx and got close to the patented Gilmour cow magnet technique, truly a magical sound , using the proper Efx and bells & whistles ..... Great job, you nailed it on the head , man
It's one thing to nail a note. But you have to have real talent, feel and soul to nail the pauses. This is what makes great musicians and furthermore great music. You play remarkably!
Wonderful performance! @CrazyHorse151 I obviously don't have access to his exact settings on the Moog but alot of the effect comes from having the correct filter setting, the long portamento (glide) and the delay/reverb. Also there is a quite subtle yet triangle-wave LFO modulating what I believe is OSC 2 pitch, even though it is subtle it contributes quite a lot to the emotionality in the sound. That's partly from what I hear, but mostly from what I can see from the Moog's LED:s in the video.
Sorry I've no time for transcribe the hammond part...but consider that I'm improvising it (obviously inspired by Rick Wright's one!!). Anyway, the right hand have this chords (after the intro that is Bm-Gm): Bm - F#m - E - F# - D - G - E - A - F# - Bm - G - F# - Em - D - F# The left hand follows this harmony by connecting the notes of each chord (that are long) by little scales up and down. I hope these few advises will help you...Try to realize the part by yourself...It's more funny!!! Bye
There was a Floyd song I tapwd many years ago that has the same organ sound. It was sung by Richard, was upbeat, and had the lyric: "captured in time now that movements are all mine". I no longer have this tape.. Do you happen to know the song title?
I always loved Rick Wright's composition in this song. Dude was the soul of the floyd ambience, underappreciated
i just got introduced to this song. i'm still stunned and i agree completely!
This is honestly one of the most beautiful things ever made!!!
Play this music before i die, please
I agree!
It's from pink floyd
Yes, this the last thing I wish to hear before I pass away.
R.I.P Richard Wright ;(

sounds like live at pompeii
yes because it is the same organ
@@darkrevan2622 I think he used a farfisa at Pompeii not hammond
No, the Farfisa is used for "Echoes Part II" but in "Saucerful of Secret" it's a Hammond M-100 :th-cam.com/video/cEfS98F89Ho/w-d-xo.html
It allways will put a smile in my face - the celestial voices!

Splendido...di dove sei?
What’s your Tribute Band’s name?
Get roll or kari’s….ez pz . And you can cut a piece of plywood With casters and this can be screwed down to the bottom of a Leslie With wing nuts.

Excellent interpretation of The most beautiful song on our planet Earth.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music
Man, this made me cry, huge Floyd fan here, bravo!
One thing worthy noting - you remained true to Rick's "reverse" playing. He usually played chords with right hand and melody with left. I appreciate that.
What does it matter?
Ed Collins I don't even call that reverse. It's pretty common to do that and switch back and forth
I agree. Being right handed, this is the way I would play this song. The chords with my right hand, and the simple melody part, which resembles a monophonic bass line, with my left hand.
Ed, it matters to me obviously.
@@Kris.G Maybe you should add Ed Collins to the list of NSF casualties, JC.
I love "A saucerfull of secrets" from '68 until now! And this is a very fine version!
The most underrated piece of music ever, RIP 🪦 Rick Wright😢😢😢😢
rien a dire , c'est vraiment le meilleur groupe du monde merci pour ce chef d'oeuvre .......quel génie ce Richard
Richard is a Genius. That music make anyone teary
I agree! No wonder celestial voices from heaven makes it to you.
A wonderful cover of a wonderful song !

Imcomparável! Magnífico! Canção maravilhosa e única! Grande Rick Wright's !
Outra obra magistral de RICK é a última parte de SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND (PART IX). Um último adeus a SYD BARRET.
Sublime, grazie Maestro

Beautiful sound.
this makes me feel that we earthlings aren't a complete waste of time.
Danny D - We are. We just happened to like good music.
Epic! Whoever gave it a thumbs down just doesn't understand
I like how you did this. In my mind I had drums and bass and guitar following along.
Damn... Now i have to drop my eyes from tears... Rest in eternal peace Mr Richard Wright
MAN ! This is AWESOME Music from Pink Floyd ..one of the Greatest Rock Groups in Time
(Rick Wright ..GENIUS )
a shame that roger didn't see it that way.
Nicely done! My favorite cover of this beautiful instrumental.

Thank you very much! I learned a lot from this video. I have a similar setup and really had a good time trying to follow you.
Rick would be really proud of your version.
Love that Bm to Gm change.
Aaaahhhhh I'm at a different place and time when I listen to thissss😌
Wonderful performance. I especially love the 'vocal' over you were able to achieve!!
Awesome version!!

Adam Ziolkowski nope, definitely an L122.... Though the only real difference between an m102 and l102 is the starter switch (I own both)!
@schreineinAv stupid german, he used a m102. ... use Google and the main difference is the vibrato between those organs...
The sounds of my youth....
Awesome 👍 x
It nearly made me cry
That's amazing !!

Brilliant!!!!
BRAVO!!!!
Not sure which is more haunting, this or Procol Harum's Repent Walpurgis.
this video gives me chills ufff
Just brilliant.
stunning
Moog had no higher pitch than Pompeii's Gilmour's guitar. Yet sounds very good.
This is fucking amazing, does anyone could be so kind to tell me what keys to play for the harmony with the left hand?
Professional. marvelous.
i love the sound of that little piano dont know what is called
+aynjel011 Moog sub 37
+Andrej Ivanovic No, Moog Little Phatty II
i got chills!!
Very very very Good, bombastic
Genial!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
WOW!!! QUE GENIAL!!!
lots of love ♥️
Only thing it’s missing is Gilmour serenading us over it
Wonderful
Well done!
thankyou..¡ very best..¡
On 2nd thoughts, the Moog should be more in the background in the beginning! After the opening it's fine.
R.I.P. Rick
Awesome. I'd love to collaborate on a full cover, I can do the bass/drums and slide.
Bravissimo!!
You nailed this
Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love it, nice job

Do you mind sharing your moog settings? I am going crazy trying to replicate your "celestial voice" using a moog voyager. Thx!
No problem. It sounds great either that one or the other way
@@majwilsonlion would love to get the setting for that moog aswell :)
Awesome work!
I so wish I had this setup
Very nice. Also, nice choice of instruments.
Tarkus? ELP at heart?
My funeral i want this played
Mi piacerebbe molto imparare a suonarla
17 people or a fiew more but the less lost their ears... This is well done...
I like that glissando at about 1:20
Nice!

Boston really dig pink floyd sound...Tom Scholz hasld repeated this kind of sonic atmosphere on Boston albums
Awesome.. Kudos for your interpretation and not just a copy cover..
